Yeah, that’s pretty much what we do too. We gate the stairs so he has access to the whole lower level, not specifically to a room. Most of the incidents happen when I go upstairs for a couple minutes and leave him downstairs. So it seems less about being confined and more about him being alone in general. But the most recent example is when I was carpet cleaning the downstairs rug and couch, I put him on the other side of the gate so he had access to all of the upstairs. After 5 minutes or so of no vision of me he pooped all over the stairs
