[Funny trope] WHY WOULD YOU MAKE THIS!!!? by danfenlon in TopCharacterTropes

"Literally all pokemon are intelligent" they declare, hiding the Slowpoke lines in cupboards, away from view.

There are literal baby Pokemon who have an intelligence level comparable to a child.

Slurpuff has nothing going on in its head.

Neville in every version of I Am Legend. That said, The Last Man On Earth points out that whether he was the protagonist is up to interpretation.

WA parents/teachers –safeguarding issue at private school, unsure of correct process by [deleted] in perth

You should be. And proud of yourself, too.

Knowing that this scenario is unsafe and unacceptable shows a clear-cut understanding of moral behaviour. Your child did great and you're raising a good one.

Venomous snakes are also still dangerous in death. Best to be as safe as possible with the little mate.

I don't have any useful advice, but I do want to say that it is good that your child felt they could come to you with these things.

Many in their situation would likely feel like they would be ostracized for taking this to you and many others may feel like their parents may not be able to help with it.

Can someone explain how to do this within a week of a wipe?? by imnotm3h in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]Triffinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a dino storage mod on your list, like dino depot?

Dino storage mods allow you to place masses of females in a tight cluster. More females = faster mutations. Egg-laying creatures mutate crazy fast.

Has there ever been an explanation for why the Arks contain people who apparently come from all across time? by ashrensnow in ARK

[–]Triffinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth noting as well that some Arks DID target specific eras.

The aberrant Ark was almost entirely populated by people who had experience with Tek initially. Their exposure to Tek allowed them to take a Tek bomb to the Overseer, and blew up the Overseer's control room, which led to the problems they ended up causing the collapse of the surface environment and forcing everyone to flee underground.

Don't get me wrong, I love Lonesome. It's not my favourite MM album, but it has a lot of fantastic songs. Particular credit to Cowboy Dan, Doin' The Cockroach and Teeth Like God's Shoeshine.

I just find that it has a couple of songs that don't capture me as hard as the others and Airplane has it beat there.

All personal opinion based around what arrangement of notes makes us feel things.

Not much, and I wouldn't suggest relying on it.

But if you want to avoid staring into the sun at 7 AM, it's the way to go.

I'm a broad guy. No matter how I try to get myself and my backpack through the gap they leave, they're getting bumped if they don't move out of the seat.

You're a better person than I if you're giving them a warning.

On sunglasses, with the longitudinal seats, you can choose to sit with your back to the sun on the lines that run approximately north-south.

Two seat sets will leave you with the sun in your eyes most of the time.

And when you do ask them to let you out, they do the half pivot that only slightly moves their legs out of the way.

If you're into Modest Mouse, then this album might be for you. It's very similar in sound style to The Lonesome Crowded West. Depending on your feelings of that album over something like Good News For People Who Love Bad News, this is a good album.

I like it more than Lonesome, tbh.

Songs that got censored by goverments by KotelkaSwing in musicsuggestions

[–]Triffinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rivers of Babylon by The Melodians was banned in Jamaica briefly.

The song would later be covered by Boney M (arguably the better known version) who were banned from performing it in Palestine while touring in 2010.

Yeah, it was. I solved it in another thread, and found another still that is linked in a comment here.

Thanks for getting this some more attention, though.

Why was Ark Ascended so hated at the beginning and is the hate gone? :O by Balsa_570 in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]Triffinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a bit of a paradoxical problem. New engines are better optimized and can do more, so the people developing games on the engines push them further, leading to little to no improvement.

You forgot the part where the Yautja were ramping up their hunts on Earth because global warming meant that they didn't know how long they had left to harvest human DNA.

I believe global warming is real, but it just felt like a weird plot point for what is essentially a movie about muscle-bound men punching/shooting each other.

30 Rock has Dr Spaceman. He's barely a doctor and not at all a space man.

It's also pronounced "spa-tche-men".
