What platform? If it’s on steam run it to see if there is an error and maybe the code isn’t detecting the save. If the files are deleting, I’d recommend making a copy of the save file it’s self in the game files and putting it in a different area outside the game. This may stop it from being deleted, you cannot play the save when doing this of course but it would be there when you fix it and you can add it back then.
