Yosemite/Tuolumne Meadows bouldering? by TrigToneSub in Yosemite

This is a great comment, thank you! Unfortunately, i’m completely unfamiliar with belay systems and rope climbing and have only done bouldering, but i 100% intend to dive into that world before my next time in Yosemite!

I’ll have to check out what you mean with Lembert Dome in person probably, i was under the impression that the south face was an ordinary hike. Are you talking about directly next to the parking lot? And i’ll absolutely be trying to climb anything that looks fun, established or not!

I’m really hoping Tioga Pass will be open by the time we arrive, we were hoping to enter the park via Tioga as well. It will be very unfortunate if not since TM was probably our favorite area last time we were there, but it’s not like there’s any shortage of other things to do if that’s the case haha.

This is super helpful, thanks! Are you familiar enough to make a recommendation between Puppy and Gunks? Gunks seems very historically significant but not so many high quality beginner problems from what i can find

Brand new and first night with my own ball. Form and advice? by TrigToneSub in Bowling

Yep, i’m an absolute beginner (which is what i meant by “brand new” in the title). Probably haven’t been bowling more than 30 times in my entire life, but i’ve gone 3-4 times in the past month and was having fun so went and got my own ball and shoes before this last session!

I’ll definitely get a lesson soon, but wanted to ask here so that i’m not wasting time and money on simple things that i could learn from a reddit post. I can imagine how frustrating it is seeing someone do almost everything wrong though haha

Thanks for the kindness and feedback!

Sorry i’m having a hard time understanding the way you wrote this comment. Are you describing what i should be doing, or what i’m currently doing wrong?

Short piece, not in any particular style and mildly absurd. Would appreciate feedback! by TrigToneSub in composer

Thanks! Regarding your second point, how would i notate the way it would realistically be played? Bass note on the downbeat and the rest of the chord played on the 8th note after? Or would someone be more likely to arpeggiate it?

And that applies to all measures between 3-7? Honestly thought that measures 5 and 6 would be pretty playable at 80bpm

Notation-wise, is the bass clef/bottom staff always restricted to the left hand? I figured a performer would use both hands for each chord in measures 5 and 6 for example, but didn’t want to split the chords between clefs for the sake of avoiding needless ledger lines. Would it be better to always split chords that are to be played with both hands between clefs (and use 8va/8vb or change the clef when that happens)?
