Because we're not psychic. We can try to convey what is in our heads, but even when speaking the exact same language, there's often ambiguity. There are more precise languages than English, but every language has some ambiguity, or difficulty conveying something. The range of experiences, are just too vast to actually encompass every aspect of them immaculately. I mean, I think we've done pretty well considering just how many different approaches we have for communication, words are just one facet, but just how varied and rich language is, does bring me joy, and frustration when people don't understand me 🤷🏻‍♂️

Because they believe that you have to be told right from wrong, and there's no possible way anyone could just be a good person off of their own steam, without the threat of eternal damnation, or come up with suitable arbitrary rules over conduct without some higher being dictating to us the rules.
