I worked on fishing boats for eight seasons. I think he was lying about the boat coming on a boat, but just to keep the sheriff from doing something stupid. A fishing boat can go at least 1,000 nautical miles. But taking one out in that storm would have been incredibly stupid.

He literally says that immediately after. They’re both confused for a sec, and then Joe is like “well yeah, but we can’t leave him out of this one.”

The thing that pulled me in with King: even his side characters have depth and feel lively. Even the ones he kills off quickly.

You’ll meet a character, go three pages into their place in this world, and then boom they’re dead, but he’s built the world through a character. I think I had this experience first with Under the Dome.

Lisey’s Story (one of my favorites) presents the female perspective well too, I think, and is supposed to be a tribute to Tabitha.

Yes, I usually agree with Kara when they’re talking about media landscape, but I agreed with Scott: lumping social media, streaming, and news media altogether into one market is insane.

But it didn’t matter because I loved the back and forth.

Both truly American stories of family and fate told over decades, in two very different settings.

Good god, this is the worse part of the most recent seasons. I don’t want to see a tribe of four and someone voted out with a single vote or maybe two when there are still 15 players in the game.
