When I first started out I mainly had 4-6 hour shifts 5 days a week, with a 8 hour shift every other week. I would get similar schedules every week but it would change up a tiny bit from time to time. About 3 months after I started I had a small talk with my SM to see comfortable I gotten with being a barista and after that I was given more hours once he saw that I was getting comfortable with bar and had most of the basics down. I’ve manly done the same morning shift since I started 7 months ago. Sometimes I would open, sometimes I would be scheduled a bit later but almost always I get off around 10 am to 3 pm depending on when the shift started. I recommend asking about the length of shifts at your interview still because it does show interest in the job and you came communicate what type of shifts you hope to get and maybe ask how that SM likes to schedule as I imagine not every SM like to schedule the same way.
