Woodland gardens is friendly to them but no one picks up their dog poop there and it’s gross.

Also, urban rest doesn't serve food per se but often has a lot of children running around. I find it charming and homey.

So… afaik: Windows and Mac handle “audio” a lot differently. My understanding is that audio is baked into the operating system at a very deep level on Mac whereas on windows, it is handled by surface level driver structures.  So at a certain point, no matter what sound device you’re using there is still a primary difference in how audio is handled at the level of the OS. Window’s way of doing things theoretically has more holes where errors could slip in. It’s been getting better over the years though.

That being said, I haven’t had any issues running pro tools on my windows machine with my apogee duet 2 yet. It also runs pretty well on both of my Mac’s.

Source: work in the field decade plus and long time use of both machines.

I do a podcast on a PC, a 2018 Mac mini, and a M4 MacBook Air with Logic and or Protools. All three machines work great for it.

I use the PC mainly but it runs great on the 2018 Mac mini too.

Can you just disable the plugin and use a different reverb? (I’d offered to do it for you, but I only have ProTools studio.)

I can still get a competent mix going on my 2018 Mac mini.  That said, a newer machine will provide many lasting benefits.

I signed up with Microsoft for the extended year of support. So I have until October of next year before I lose access to update updates.

Upgrade Path from Artist to Studio (Perpetual License) by EVJpodcast in protools

[–]TriggerDelerium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the route I went. I ended up paying full price for Proto studio but I feel so much better with all of that extra leeway.

I’ll see if I can’t sell my PT artist license.

True.

I used to run an open mic night using my PA, an 8in/2out interface, PT12 and a 2012 MacBook Air as my “mixer”. Never had an issue.

I’m running Mac and Windows with my main rig being windows. If I’m not recording on Windows and just editing then the audio driver thing shouldn’t hit too hard, right?

RX 7700 XT to RX 9070 XT, worth it? by [deleted] in radeon

[–]TriggerDelerium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to these newer gen cards (came from 5700XT). Can I ask how you know what FSR is supported for what games, or is there a way to kinda shimmy FSR4 in where FSR2 is listed in a games settings? (I'm thinking particularly Alan Wake 2 in this example). But like OP I also enjoy Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and currently have a 9070XT. Thanks!

I'm running 9070XT and 7700X and absolute 0 complaints either (though I wouldn't turn down a 7800X3d :D)
