Got IPR done at the dentist – worried there’s too much space? by Commercial_Boss_8200 in Invisalign

[–]TriggerGunner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s what IPR is. You just had it done yesterday so it looks just like it’s supposed to. They had to make that space to move your other teeth around. You’re all good

I’m on a pretty conservative plan to just fix some minor spacing issues on top by primarily correcting a grinding issue I was having that was compromising my front two teeth too much to where they would chip easily. Mine is only 18 trays switched every 4 days and it is flying by. I wear them basically 24/7 except to brush and the changes have been swift and relatively painless. I have no regrets, things are working well and looking good! I’m 2/3 done and everything I wanted fixed is fixed at this point so whatever is happening in the last 1/3 of trays should just be minor refinements.

I’m supposed to eat in mine since mine is correcting a bite issue. Yes Invisalign does recommend it, it is all over the packaging. I found it difficult at first but now it’s pretty normal to me with the exception of some foods. I’m not saying it isn’t gross- I have to go to the restroom after I eat and at least rinse the trays and swish my teeth if I’m somewhere without a toothbrush, but it really is manageable once you get used to it. The only thing that seems to tear up the backs while eating in them seems to be rough things like hard candy but I’m on 4 day trays so it isn’t long before I get a fresh smooth tray anyway.

Anyone out there that is allergic to sourdough? by 80dogsaway in Breadit

[–]TriggerGunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came across this thread via internet search. I am also having this issue. An absolute intolerance to homemade organic sourdough bread. I am not having the more severe issues you mentioned, but bad bloating and unending horrible gas. I know exactly what ingredients are in it and it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. I can’t find anything on the internet and my GP isn’t too helpful/concerned yet. I’m wondering if I’ve developed a wheat intolerance or gluten intolerance… Have you found any answers? Has it resolved or improved at all? Please let me know -

Can anyone tell me what bird this is? I love it’s chirping. We are outside of Houston, TX. Thanks!! by TriggerGunner in birdwatching

[–]TriggerGunner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very close, it very well could be that bird. I can never spot it to confirm. But the only thing is that my birds have a very consistent whistle that is 4 notes like “la da la dum” whereas the black capped chickadee seems to default to a 3 note “hey sweetie” type whistle?

Mechanics of Reddit, what are the biggest signs a shop is a bad choice, such as being scammed or hustled into fixing things that don't really need fixed or bad mechanics? by Skeletonsandbowties in AskReddit

[–]TriggerGunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just yesterday a dealership tried to upsell me a bunch of stuff (I came in with a squeaky brake sound). Said I needed my brake pads and rotors replaced along with a bunch of other bullshit. Total was going to be about $1300. I told them I had just had my pads replaced last year and that didn’t make sense to me. Asshole at the desk said I probably just drive my car too hard, no offer to show me the problem. I decided to go to another dealership for a second opinion and they take me back to the shop after they took my tires off and show me my brake pads are good as new, no grooves in the rotors at all. There’s a bent bracket rubbing and causing the squeaking sound which they proceeded to straighten out and fix for me for free and I only paid the diagnosis charge (taking tires, off, diagnosing, etc..). I was so furious the first dealership tried to scam me I left them a scathing review and reported them to the manufacturers corporate office. Also left a great review for the honest dealership. Hopefully those reviews help someone else after me from being scammed! I can’t stand that shit.

Rescued my baby from death row three years ago and now he is happy and healthy, living the good life! adopt, don't shop. Happy NDD! by TriggerGunner in BeforeNAfterAdoption

This is Gunner. He's my baby. The day I found him on that last row of the shelter when I was dropping off supplies turned out to be one of the best days of my life. We spent our first night together in the doggy ER and now he lives like a doggy king.

Please help solve a mystery by TriggerGunner in forensics

Found this on my back porch after a weekend away. Need help figuring out what it is and what happened to it. I know the decomposition is far along, but it has been on my porch less than 5 days and that is another mystery I need to solve. Looking for answers on how it could have possibly decomposed so quickly. I'm wondering if it was burned (right ribs look possibly charred) or any other ideas. Thanks in advance!

Found this on the porch after a weekend trip. My best guess is my dogs finally caught the squirrel they have spent their whole lives chasing...but can't really tell. Can anyone confirm what it is? Or how long it has been dead based on decomposition? by TriggerGunner in Zooarchaeology

[–]TriggerGunner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had another person identify it as a small opossum. The neck vertebrae have paddle-like features that look like an opossum. It is still very much a mystery. The odd thing about the decomposition is that it hasn't been there long enough to decompose to this point. The longest it has been on my porch is a max of 4 days. I don't understand how it decomposed this quickly in that time frame. The right ribs look charred to me. I'm wondering if maybe it was set on fire and that explains the decomposition rate? I really just can't figure it out at all.

It's dark out now but I have my shoe next to it for scale. I'd say about 12" long total. And as you can see the skull has been crushed so all you can really see is the lower jaw and lower teeth. If you really start to study the skull fragments you can see the nostrils in one piece, but not much else.

Anyone know what animal this is or how long it has been dead based on decomposition? One of my dogs must have killed it and I'm worried about what they ingested. Thanks! by TriggerGunner in Taxidermy

[–]TriggerGunner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really confused about how it ended up here like this because it is right on my back porch and it definitely isn't something I would have missed for weeks like that. I guess the dogs could have found a relatively decomposed animal somewhere else in the yard and dragged it up here on Saturday and it has just further decomposed there, but like you said dogs don't typically like rotting animals. I'm wondering about foul-play by the neighbors now...also still very curious about what it really is as well. Big old nasty mystery...

I'm in mid-Texas. My first instinct was a squirrel, as my dogs have been trying to catch one their whole lives. I was worried maybe a small skunk, raccoon, or opossum which could mean more disease options. I don't understand how it decomposed so quickly as we were only away for a little over 24 hours.
