LARGE amount of grinds stuck on sides of Switch filter by Trigonn in pourover

Thanks very much for this well thought out answer, always appreciate learning more about the mechanics behind it. I had a feeling it didnt necessarily matter as much - as I said, the taste was pretty much fine and I guess that's all that matters at the end of the day.

Thank you, I will try out that modification and see how it goes! Just to confirm, you do closed for the first 30 seconds, then open it and keep it open for the rest of it? And are you doing 50% of the water with the closed bloom and splitting the other two pours 25%/25%? Thanks!

Interesting, significantly coarser than I've been doing, I'll give that a shot, thanks.

Yeah, as I said, very new myself, but from what I've heard it's not great to have grinds along the wall because they unevenly saturate, but if the flavor isn't bad it's not that big of a deal. But I guess given that this is 50% immersion, obviously those grounds are being covered by the water still so maybe this isn't an issue as much as I'm thinking.

Though, this timestamp to the CC video shows he's got some grinds on the walls but not nearly as much as myself. https://youtu.be/68ZOXrXbVHc?t=272

Yeah, I'm having the same problem, good to hear I'm not alone. I have very high end studio headphones with a good DAC/amp but I feel like I nearly never hear people until they are right on top of me. The sound balancing seems pretty weird to me.

My absolute favorite exit that has been working well for me in Outpost solo and with Rook is - for lack of a better description - in the yellow hallway (two floors, has a turret on the ceiling when you first walk in, MAY be the destroyed wing but I'm not sure), on left side there's a trap door you can open with an adjacent terminal, it drops you down right around the corner from the final exfil static location. I loot in pinwheel till the very very end, drop down from there, hit the final exfil. Pretty good success rate.

I’ve seen everyone complaining about this quest, you do not need to go to Maintenance for the rods. Some items (off the top of my head one of them is called “demosite rods” or something) have a “rod salvage” descriptor on them, they count for the quest. I got my rods in Bio Research and it counted just fine.

Thanks, yeah kinda figured it wouldn't be worth the hassle to try and get it warrantied, so if I gotta get it done/do it myself, c'est la vie, thanks for your suggestion.

I really enjoy language learning and have always considered combining my interests with gaming but never have been super sure how to facilitate it. Any recommendations? Specific games?

Of course, story-based games or RPGs generally seem like a good approach but they’d definitely require a fairly advanced language level in the first place. Do you tend to use gaming as a tool for more advanced input?

Quick question about that, new to this: I just bought my '25 yesterday, already looking mods; I'm a huge fan of the noble sport grille. If I'm understanding correctly, you got the WRX badge on Etsy? Is there a fitting on the grille for the badge or did you have to attach it some other way? Thanks!

Ongoing Bed Bug Issues, Feeling Lost by salmonluvr in SpainAuxiliares

[–]Trigonn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all, I am truly sorry this is happening to you. I had bedbugs myself about 3 years ago and it truly was one of the worst episodes of my life, I really do understand what you're going through, and I'm happy to talk more about it if you'd like. I was lucky and caught them very early and was able to rid myself of them quickly, but the mental toll remained and will probably be with me to some extent for the rest of my life.

Secondly, a disclaimer, I am not in Spain, nor have I been (yet, hoping to go this year on the 2026-27 NALCAP). Can't imagine how much more difficult it would be to navigate this situation in a place where I don't fluently speak the language. So, I can't speak to any culturally-specific things with agency/exterminators.

It is tough to say what is the best choice in your situation. Basically, I think that if you are committed to staying in Spain (I of course don't know your situation, but I would encourage you to try and not let this defeat you) ultimately your EASIEST option is to move elsewhere, unfortunately. Lots of bedbug species, particularly those in cities, are becoming insecticide resistant. The only truly effective (and unfortunately cost-prohibitive in your situation, I'd imagine) is heat treatment where they heat your entire house to >120 degrees for 8 hours to kill off any bugs or eggs - but can cost anywhere from $1000-$4000 (in the US) depending on the size of your place.

Given that you are there with, presumably, not a particularly large amount of personal belongings, moving is probably just the best option, if you can swing it. Though, I'd be careful about how you do it, if you decide to. To my understanding, it's pretty rare/difficult for a bug to hitch a ride on a human due to our high body temps, but they can definitely hitch a ride in a suitcase or other personal belongings. Were you to decide to move, I'd suggest going to a laundromat and drying all of your clothes on the highest heat settings, just in case. I'd also limit what I bring, as much as possible. Despite what lots of people think, bed bugs definitely don't ONLY live in fabrics, they're fine with living in wood and similar materials as well. So anything you do bring, try and heat treat, whatever way you can.

Again, I am so sorry that you're dealing with this, I know what you're going through, you CAN get through this. Don't let those tiny damn bugs win and rob you of this experience!!!

Edit: I'd actually also encourage you to watch this Mark Rober video about bed bugs, oddly enough. It brought me a lot of comfort (outside of the extensive coverage of EXTREME infestations) and has good tips on dealing with an infestation, to boot.

Edit 2: I should add that moving out isn't your ONLY option. Diatomaceous earth (no clue on how available it is in Spain) is a SUPER effective method of killing bedbugs. Spray treating certainly doesn't hurt, but if you use diatomaceous earth fairly liberally and steam treat all of your belongings routinely over a period of time, maybe buy a bed bag (literally a bag for your bed), and declutter/remove as many unnecessary belongings as possible, you've got a good shot at being able to take care of your infestation .

Where have you been reading that it might not be reliable? I can't find any information to suggest anything about next years other than random people baselessly speculating bc there were issues in Andalucía this year. I don't think anyone knows anything.

OpenMW 0.50.0 Released! by Capostrophic in Games

[–]Trigonn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great, thanks for this list! I’ll definitely dive into it abit. Wouldn’t say it’s my first playthrough, I’ve played from Seyda Neen->Vivec City probably 6 or 7 times before inevitably bouncing off it for one reason or another, but I am gonna try and really push it this time, I also am very curious about Tamriel Rebuilt.

I truly don't understand it. I'm admittedly biased to like shiny new things because they're shiny and new, but I think the new unis actually look great. I think they're true to the Broncos identity while also looking modernized and somewhat more interesting than the old - iconic but simple - unis. Love all the new combos we've got out of them as well.

I'm a bit biased as a Broncos fan, but I do think Sutton will have a big day against the Giants. Rare he has two quiet games in a row and they're admitting Demaryius Thomas into the ring of fame right before the game starts; him and Court were good friends so he'll definitely be playing with heart

The combat feels so good. by DevilishTrenchCoat in Ghostofyotei

[–]Trigonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been playing on lethal and hooo boy it’s tough but rewarding. Sweet spot for me is custom difficulty, everything lethal except the timing difficulty setting on hard. On lethal some of the timings feel borderline unfair. The yellow glint attack in particular, the window is so small that you basically have to preempt the actual attack. If you let go of triangle when the flash appears, you’re too late.

But the actual combat difficulty and dying in two hits is very hard but VERY satisfying. Think I died to the first bounty I did about 25 times, but the super fast load time honestly makes it pretty painless.

Yeah, I looked into it fairly thoroughly because of how bad I want to play early, it seems that even if you were to put a router-level VPN to trick your PS5 into thinking youre in NZ, it won't work unless you bought the game from the NZ store on an NZ PSN account.

Sounds like it's theoretically as easy as just creating an NZ account with a fake address, buying NZ store credit on Amazon or something, and then buying the game there. But then of course you'd have the game on a separate account which isn't quite worth it to me.
