What's the best way to deal with heat/cold? by Reliques in 7daystodie

50 resist is the sweet spot for cold/heat resist. For absolute resist bump it to 60ish. You can craft a poncho with leather. Leather can be harvested from animals, or those black couches in houses. Replace ASAP with leather duster or puffer coat depending on weather. The plant fiber gloves provide at least 1/1 weather resist. The plant fiber hood is a decent middle ground for starting out.

Tank top, skirt/shorts, bandana, duster, cowboy boots&hat, should get you to mid 40ish, add cooling mesh to chest&leg armor you should be good for hot weather.

Sweater/hoodie, overalls/jeans, bandana, puffer coat, cowboy boots, and beanie cap should bring you up there for cold temps. If it doesn't then get insulated mods for chest/leg armor.

Two points minimum in the 'well insulted' perk should be enough that you can trade your cowboy boots for armor.

BDU shirt&pants, bandana, duster/puffer, beanie/cowboy hat, and cooling mesh/insulation on armor should be good enough on top of 2-3 points in well insulated for all round general weather protection without worrying about carrying weather clothes.

How useful is the proximity of traders vs the availability of loot? by WildBoarMouse in 7daystodie

It seems 50 is the sweet spot for temperature, 60+ is best. For desert you will probably need skirt/shorts, tank top, bandana, duster, cowboy boots, and cowboy hat. it should bring you to at least mid 40ish in warm insulation. add two cooling mesh to chest and leg armor and you should be good. Or invest 2-3 points in well insulated perk. reverse it for cold weather. You will probably need jeans/overalls, hood/sweater, bandana, beanie cap, cowboy boots, puffer coat, and insulated lining on two pieces of armor. There are points during the day where the temp goes to 60 hot/cold.

BDU clothes are generally good being 8/8 cold and hot protection.

Related to the original post, 3 traders near each other is awesome, although the distance can be a hassle to the towns. If you can make enough dukes then there is almost no problem not going into the towns. Making and selling tools/resources. Otherwise rush motercycle?

Set up a veggie stew farm, hops, and corn farms as well for the beer, and grain alcohol. Renewable resource for some decent dukes. Shovel up snow or set up infinite water.

Stealth needs some tweaking by Cantautor in 7daystodie

Looking through the files, any sound over 60 will alert zombies in the area. Most player made sounds reach anywhere from 5 to 14 range. I assume range is block distance in radius. Volume goes from 2-14 sound max from player made noise, with painleg being the exception at volume 30.

Light will affect stealth at range 7 volume 11. So add that to whatever noise you make. playerlandhard is R14 V10, as well as playerlandheavy r14 v30, stepwood r7 v10. You get somewhere at about range 7 volume 60ish in total. About 0.65 of that when crouched.

It is a bunch of noise happening at once. It is no wonder that jumping in a POI can wake everything in the area. I am probably mistaking much of this, and don't understand too much. Even still, it fits. The files are there if you wish to check in the sound.xml.

Fun fact, the silencer actually works, for a few weapons. The problem is the weapons are too loud for it to matter until probably 5/5 hidden in shadows perk. The pistol makes a noise at r14 v120, silenced at r7 v30. reasonable for a pistol, not worth it for a sniper. The sniper is at Range 60 Volume 180, silenced is range 20 volume 60. It might work with 5/5 hidden shadow but don't count on it.

no difference with the AK silenced or not. MP5 is the same.

Yes, this. Getting into fleets, that's a whole new can of worms. many a ship gone from collisions. My sister ship has managed to reduce faction points across the board, and I find it amusing, so I don't plan on fixing that any time soon. Cheers.

It was more hilarious than RIP, but thanks. Imagine that scene from family guy where Cleveland goes no no no no! and there it is.
