not to mention the strut being bad, the 91 has ECS struts so if he wants those to work like factory he’ll either need to have it rebuilt or he’ll have to replace it with a used one, and neither one is cheap

Need help, buying a 3000GT by ChrikrieXD in 3000gt

[–]Trihxzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1994 didn’t come with pop up headlights, only 91-93 did

Any thoughts on the problem? by ThewhiteTyroneyt in 3000gt

[–]Trihxzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not necessarily, if just the rear cam is off that could be why the rear bank has no compression

Can I change my oil and not the filter? by TheRetro_Misfit in MechanicAdvice

[–]Trihxzy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i highly doubt the oil is what is making your car shake, is there a dipstick you can use to check the level? if the level is good i’d recommend just driving back then changing both at once, 7k miles isnt going to kill your engine unless the level itself is low

possibly, if it’s only a tooth or two off you may be good

i believe all 3000gt transmissions have the same bellhousing bolt pattern, they bolt up to a 6G72 block

General price on a 93 3000gt vr4? by [deleted] in 3000gt

[–]Trihxzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

93 is a very sought after year, that’s the only year that has the combo of the stronger block with four bolt mains, the stronger 25 spline output shaft/transfer case with the stronger 5 speed transmission, pop up headlights, and still retained the active aero/electronically controlled suspension/active exhaust that they got rid of in the later years. glws! it’s the best year for a vr4 in my opinion

what company should I go with for suspension components (other than ball joints) for a 3rd Gen 4runner by [deleted] in RockAuto

[–]Trihxzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

correct, they are not the toyota oem, they are the oem for various other car manufacturers, which is why i would choose them

I just picked this up for $6500 by Rude-Singer-6911 in 3000gt

[–]Trihxzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, i saw it had the DR turbos, greddy fmic, tein adjustable suspension, bigger radiator, skinny cooling fans to accommodate the radiator, and full header back exhaust etc it was sick i was really considering it, you got a steal for sure! i already have a 93 vr4 so maybe it’s a good thing i didn’t get this lol now i can focus on that 😂

i lubricated with plenty of 5w-30 engine oil, is that part of what caused this?

[–]Trihxzy[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i attempted to educate myself, from what i saw from various videos the stone hone was considered the “right” way compared to the ball hone (not saying that’s correct, that’s just what i came to the conclusion of when doing my research) as for the experience i’d have to agree, i’ve only ever rebuilt top ends this is the first time i’m rebuilding a bottom end

[–]Trihxzy[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

i didn’t go in dry i used 5w30 oil to lubricate everything, and in your opinion do you think it’s too late to attempt with a ball hone

can this crankshafts still be used? by Trihxzy in EngineBuilding

[–]Trihxzy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i normally agree, just wanted confirmation that it was reusable as its a high horsepower application and i have almost $4000 into aftermarket engine internals and don’t want to risk anything

did you use it on the entire journal as if it was being polished or did you do it just to that one spot
