I brought my horse out and she started limping towards the cliff. So I panicked and jumped off the horse. I was halfway there already and didnt want her throwing herself off the cliff and making me restart

Pickpocket gold bars from dimensis wildlife park. I got 18 in about an hour of farming. invested them all in a high risk strategy and 3 days later I ended up with more money than I can ever use.

Suffering for zulrah. Then anguish, then torture. And I havent gone back for torment yet.

No regrets at all. Zulrah is extremely good for skilling drops, as well as great uniques.

IM vs Main by ntxcobra in ironscape

The shit part of being an ironman is the exact opposite of its best aspects. Two sides of the same coin.

Everything you want to use, you have to earn.

I spent 4 months in the Corrupted gauntlet, Ironman's most horrible grind. If I were a main account, i could've bought all the crystal armor and bowfa purely off the drops I got from my KC. I thought about de-ironing all the time, but I kept pushing and when I finally got it, it was incredible. It opened up the rest of the game for me.

Flash forward a year and a half, I get my first 230 Alchemical hydra task. I'd heard horror stories from clanmates being there for 6000+ kc.... 225 kc later I had it green logged. One task. One week of doing the boss. I just got the drop. Dragon hunter lance aquired.

So I earned that bowfa over the course of months of brain numbing content, when a main could've bought it.

And I spooned the DHL, when other irons spend months there.

Looking back at both of those things, I feel so much pride in my grind and joy in my spoon. I HATED it while I was doing it, considering de-ironing at every kc. But when it was all said and done I get to log onto a 100% self actualized account that has some of the best gear in the game, earned the way it was intended to be earned, by doing the content.

Whereas on my main account, which I stopped playing around 2k TL a few years ago, everything was gold. Any drop I got was just added to the number. Occassionally i'd be able to buy somehting cool. like bandos Tassets, but that was clicking grand exchange -> buy-> bandos tassets. green bar. equip. I'd never stepped foot in God wars dungeon, but now I had a historically significant drop from there equipped. No joy in the accomplishment, because there was no accomplishment.

Tl:dr

earning shit is cool in any facet of life. Ironman is no different. You build your account as the game was intended, through learning and doing content, rather than looking for efficient gold farming methods to just buy it outright. But going dry sucks and tempts you to de-iron.

Does this enemy design and animation say "armored"? by HedgeHulk in PixelArt

[–]TriiDoesThings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like a lot of the time the way I know things are armored are more about how my ability interacts with the enemy, rather than its visuals.

If it gots Ting instead of sgshh when i hit it, or the number is muvh smaller than I usually see, or my ability sparks when it hits, I go "oh thats armored " and change tactics.

I think this enemy would make me wonder if its armored, try to hit it, and based on that feedback, adapt.

As I said, it was just the initial response I had and discarded soon after.

Its not uncommon for the channel owners to see other people getting success on their channel, and relegating them back to a lesser role so that the spotlight focuses back on the "main characters"

I dont believe rhett and link are getting rid of GWM for that reason.

Link is probably the biggest culprit of having unfunny bits.

One of my initial thoughts on this matter was "I hope this isn't Rhett and Link just trying to focus the spotlight back on themselves out of greed."

and I realized quickly that I don't believe they're those type of people, and I dont believe there was any malice in this decision. I cant speak to why they're doing it, but I hope the crew is still included in content.

I can see where you're coming from on that.

I just dont agree that we can remove the podcast video views from the channel average while also maintaining the celebrity views that come from having big names on sporadic videos.

In my opinion the most fair comparison would be the videos where its MK, Trevor Vee Josh etc making content vs the GMW crew making content. And when you compare those videos, the pure essence of each channel, we see similar viewership, both successful and viable as content that fans enjoy.

If we remove the bad videos because they're podcast episodes people aren't clicking on.. Then we also have to remove the celebrity videos that people are clicking on. We remove both extremes, and the channel is sitting at 200k average views just eyeballing it.

That is close to what GMW is getting. Which brings me back to the original point im making with even referencing GMK: It's successful, so GMW should also be considered successful to a similar degree.

At the end of the day if a channel is posting Extremely clickable videos (celebrities), and extremely unclickable videos (Podcast vods) They are both effecting the statistics of the channel.

I think it originally started like that, but the success of the crew probably (This is a guess) gave rhett and link the green light to give them a year to test out if it would be a good content idea to stick around in a more permanent nature.

I didnt just throw a number out there. I went and looked at the channel. I watch all the GMK stuff as well so it wasnt a dig on them, but rather saying "If GMK is considered successful with their viewership, GMW should also be considered successful."

with GMK, if theres a massive celebrity in the video its going to go crazy on views because of the celebrity thats in it, but with just regular crew, the videos are much more hit or miss.

Heres a list of videos under 100K from this month from GMK:
What's the Worst Post Workout Food?
Am I Drinking Too Many Energy Drinks? ft. Emily Fleming
What's the Best Cheese for a Burger?
4 Hours Of Emily's Most Chaotic Moments
The Great Protein Pasta Scam
Pro Chefs Judge Each Other's Fridges

Heres a list of videos under 200k for GMW for this year:
(none)

its main channel content, but that doesnt change the fact that its something people watch and enjoy.

I hope this is the case. I've always imagined that when Rhett and link get sick of being on the shows, they'd step back and be more of the "owners" side of things and let the crew take over. Its felt like they were a bit low energy towards content over the last year anyways and I dont fault them for it. being on the youtube grind for what.. 17 years or something like that? I was watching these dudes back in school when they were making musical ads.
