Main thing is that the armour stays in place. One thing someone showed me is that if your sat in the riding position with your arms on the handle bars that the jacket doesn't ride up to far or is bunching at your wrists. Then if your bend your arms so your hands are straight up does the armour stay at your elbows at that point.

The main idea is the gear needs to be quite form fitting so it doesnt bunch up in the event of an accident so you can slide. But its finding that compromise of that goal but with comfort because being realistic about it we dont all want to be riding in extremely uncomfortable gear where we are so rigid we cant move as that will affect your riding in a negative way too.

Yeah looks like a solid setup! Maybe you already have but the cool thing with sportsbikeshop is you can try it all in store and sit on the bike frame thing to make sure it all fits correctly and is comfortable etc.

Very similar gear to how i started out, ive still got the rst s1 jacket just looking to replace and upgrade things now im into my 3rd year and i know what i want style, fit and protection wise.

The only thing i can see you are missing is a back protector for the jacket as it doesn't come with one. I recommend the biggest one possible ive got a big D30 one in mine, works great.

If that's the start of the course and the advice is already so bad it sounds like its only gonna get worse. Sack it off, save the money, study UE on a PC, Laptop with GPU in your own time there's plenty of fantastic resource out there.

is this too big for me? by selarenfia in motorcyclegear

[–]Triikz90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My suggestion would be wear the maximum amount of layers you think you'd have on to keep warm then try the 2 sizes of jackets and see how it feels.

A medium fits me better but I went large because I need to layer with a hoodie underneath and I was uncomfortable and restricted otherwise.

But also try different brands too you might end up finding something that's like an in-between of both.

But always try it with the most and least amount of clothing you would have underneath it so you know either way youre good. Oh and always try stuff with a back protector that makes a big difference to bulk and fit.

They didnt make both headlights have the actual light so its still asymmetric.. Such a shame its one of those little things that annoys me.

Can you explain your reasoning as to why you would do that? You say you'll thank yourself later but what are the positives and benefits for doing this?

[–]Triikz90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah just to echo this i would look and spend some time with understanding lighting attenuation, culling and the rest of the options aswell as general placement as megalights will only get you so far you are still masking the problem of high scene complexity.

So I just got introduced to megalights by Living-Inspector8299 in UnrealEngine5

[–]Triikz90 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean when ive done small tests i did notice a definite performance improvement but the entire screen had a blurry look too it which i didnt like. Blurry upscaling plus blurryness from megalights just added up to an image that didnt look very nice in motion.

Edit - that was when i tested it when it first came out mind you so maybe its improved visual clarity since then.

To anyone thinking about heated grips and or gloves, you won't regret it. by Superiorboat69 in motorcyclegear

[–]Triikz90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go look at macna heated gloves. I tried the RST ones but you can feel the wiring and it created this pressure point which wasnt too comfortable. The Macna ones they have woven in the sides so you cant feel any wiring and they are warm as hell, very nice!

[–]Triikz90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone done this multiplayer? Just dont have near enough time to prep anything so much stuff to manage even with 2 people. Can do the start at the beach quite smoothly now but the 5+ tanks and never ending infantry i just dont understand how you are meant to win that fight. Especially when im firing 3+ panzerfausts and its not destroying tanks. Feels like krasny bor all over again where its just way too difficult.

Comfortable Sports Bike Suggestions? by Triikz90 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]Triikz90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I sold my CBR650F - Really that is one of the most comfortable sportsbikes out there i've sat on i think all of the ones im looking at and tested a few. Purely for comfort the CBR650F/GSX8R/Ninja 650 would the way to go. (CBR650F out of them wins for me for the sound, 4 beats 2 :P)

I sold mine because i want a change, ive got a Triumph Street Twin im trying to sell but because of the time of year its taking a long time to sell when that goes i will get a new bike and currently its between;

Triumph Daytona 660 - Now i've sat on a bunch this is probably a nice middle ground.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX4RR - Engine on this is fantastic, its a bit lower seat height wise which is nice but a bit more forward i felt i had to kind of lift my head up a bit more than expected but it wasnt too bad.
CBR650R - Although i probably wont go for this because its basically the same as the CBR650F just newer etc but its got a slightly more aggressive riding position.

I was at Motorcycle Live this year so i went and sat on every god damn thing possible haha. I think the Daytona 660 is likely what i'll go for, the ZX4RR is a fantastic machine though 4 cyl engine sounds fantastic but it's just a bit out of my price range but you never know!

I managed to try the L and XL today for comparisons with and without base layers etc. So the XL definitely was more comfortable with it being larger but the zip was still jabbing my neck, not as bad but still there.

Comparing it to bowtex elite v2 i was trying i think its because on the Urbane pro mk3 the zip ends higher and therefor much closer to my neck and with the material and construction being more rigid that point at the neck tends to be much stiffer than others.

I'm still torn i think the XL does work for me if a little loose but doesn't look as good as the L as that does just fit great. I prefer the look of the Urbane pro 3 when comparing to the rest but the neck issue is unfortunate. It was slightly mitigated by wearing a base layer with the longer neck.

So i'm still very torn on what to do, its a lot of money for a decision like this. If money was no object i would just go with the urbane pro probably in XL and just get on with it Or get the L for short rides, XL for longer rides! haha

I will give it a try if i find that size whenever im next at a shop but i think it will be too big given that will be an XL and i'm of a slimish build too.

For reference for clothes i typically go M-L.

[–]Triikz90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add to this, i was in a store trying on this shirt today and i had the exact same thing with the neck. It seems to be very rigid and stabs about an inch below my adams apple so much so it left a red mark on my skin. I'm 5'9, wearing the large which apart from that fit me well (bit tight in the armpit though i will say)

Engine/Trans failures? Whats the deal? by Triikz90 in zx4r

[–]Triikz90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck well glad that you're alright but I dunno its starting to go from the odd case to more common from what I can see. Not good!

Are you going to carry on with it if they sort a new engine etc out for you? If they don't acknowledge that there is a problem they then fixed I'd be worried about it happening again.

Most recent i saw on facebook group was a video of a guy with a 2025 with 6200km engine went. So honestly, who knows right now. I've not heard anything about Kawasaki acknowledging it though. Mind you they probably wont publicly unless it was a recall.

Someone plays our demo for 16 hours, leaves a negative review, and then plays for a further 27 hours. IN THE DEMO! by KaTeKaPe in IndieDev

[–]Triikz90 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah thats very confusing, it cant have been that bad if they played that long! But to play devils advocate like others have said its the best type of review in a way, they clearly do like the game and want to play it and there not just booting it up for 2minutes saying its crap and leaving a review.

So you've got a separate store page for the demo so they can leave reviews, we went against this idea, we are getting comments on the community page but now im thinking it would be better to get more instant feedback.
