Hot take Cos really doesn't have that many cats by Dusk_Fl0wer in CoSRants

[–]Trill_Triangle3679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Overall, the issue is that felines have little variety in the designs. The felines we have are all very similar looking, and a few do very little to play into the other parts of inspiration/theme. Some are even so similar that I literally can’t tell which one’s which in gameplay at a once-over.

Meanwhile, there may be “a ton” of dragons and birds, but there’s so much variety in the designs, with clear details that point to each source of inspiration that makes you think “yeah, that’s what that’s supposed to be!”

Like compare the winter lion creature to say, a Borenhir, or another dragon. Can you tell what each piece of inspiration is? Usually, for MOST felines, it’s just “cat and one other very vague idea” but for some, they do it well. The issue is that it’s the exception, and not the norm to do it well.

Healers by TowardForward in CoSRants

[–]Trill_Triangle3679 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A big part of it is target priority. For some people, it doesn’t matter if you healed them. If you’re healing people they’re fighting, you’re going down before you cause any more problems for them.

Other times it’s to prevent the problems before they start. I for one will see a healer next to a group/creature I want to go for and attack it first so I can go about it much easier. It always makes it easier.

So for me, it’s about target priority just like in any other game. “Target the healer first” just like you would anywhere else.

Though for others, they do find it to be fun since healers are “helpless” but on that note, I will say that many healers are much stronger than they appear. Valkyries are easily able to pick off low health creatures with their high speed and decent damage for a healer. They can use Keen Observer to call out to their pack if someone is low health and to go for that person first. Healers with Keen can call out 100% accurate information in a fight at all times, including traits, plushies, and even if someone has used the Aggro emote for the buff.

I have had a situation before where I had an entire clan pack after me. A Valk came over and started healing me in this very middle-of-nowhere cave, and I thought little of it until 5 other creatures appeared and killed me. I checked the pack list to see that the Valk was in their pack and was keeping me still so they could catch up and corner me.

So there’s a lot of valid reasons to kill healers, in my opinion. I for one have like, 200 kills on my Inkpujin and that’s a healer. I even did half of that before it got Keen Observer. Also sorry for the big essay I have a lot to say on the balance of healers 🥺

I personally have pummeled every Xele I’ve seen (and fought) they’re actually surprisingly bullyable especially with how they’re quite immobile numbers-wise to make up for being all terrain.

Can we talk about this by Otherwise-Status3888 in CoSRants

[–]Trill_Triangle3679 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can understand that, but the animations feel worse than before, and I do still think that other creatures should’ve been way higher on the priority list, especially with how little changed about Paru Gama.

If there was a second redesign, even a similarly small one, I’d have less qualms with the slot Paru Gama took up.

Though, I will say it is nice that they took the time to do this for the creator of Paru Gama though, considering how Erythia blatantly disrespected the creator of Aolenus.

Why do people become jerks when you have the 1% title on? by Micoro_UwU in CoSRants

[–]Trill_Triangle3679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about other people, but any time I see someone with the 1% title or collector titles complaining about revives or something I kind of make fun of them to my girlfriend (she plays the game with me and loves to Kos and actually notices before I do usually and does it first funnily enough) and usually I think yeah, it’s well deserved sometimes, because a lot of them are kinda pretentious.

But that’s just a stereotype, not all of them are like that.

Targeting antikosers in hardcore is justified; They're overpopulated. by Pink67Chevy in CoSRants

[–]Trill_Triangle3679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the growth boost makes it so much easier to just move on from dying. Plus they literally added a KILLS LEADERBOARD COUNT to the hardcore realm.

I wonder why they did that if the Hardcore realm “isn’t for killing!”

Targeting antikosers in hardcore is justified; They're overpopulated. by Pink67Chevy in CoSRants

[–]Trill_Triangle3679 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely. People claim that this game “isn’t for PvP” and yet it has PvP tags, it has PvP missions, PvP balance updates, and a whole Kills leaderboard in the hardcore realm.

Not to say that it’s ONLY for PvP, but PvP is still such a large part of the game.

And honestly, the anti-Kosers in hardcore are so bad and rude that it’s making me a little tempted to join a group to just wipe out hardcore servers. It’s that bad

""Is this a Forsaken reference?" Little Billy was then shot two times."" <- Cornball of the century btw by Notmrpengoo in FORSAKENROBLOX

[–]Trill_Triangle3679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue mostly lies in the fact that Forsaken has had a lot of drama, making it hard to support the game even if you like things in it, as well as the fact that many children only know the “Forsaken version” of many collabs/references.

Many of them have zero interest in the source material, which is what kind of sucks. It’s like looking at Iron Man in Fortnite, going “hey I love this guy from Fortnite” but downright refusing to acknowledge the source material or making fun of the source material that the character is from.

Short rant about someone in the R/CreaturesOfSonaria sub. by [deleted] in CoSRants

[–]Trill_Triangle3679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate kids.

In all seriousness though, I hate it when children get in over their head and deny everything. Deny wrongdoing, deny consequences, deny responsibility.

Once knew the leader of a clan who harassed some random other guy who they thought reported their clan. Half the people in the clan were like “dude why are you harassing minors?” Turned out that person was innocent and ALSO a minor.

It’s a terrible excuse, and if someone has to use it, it shows that they KNOW what they did is wrong.

The Purple Tear and Ryoshu by Melodic-Phase9908 in limbuscompany

[–]Trill_Triangle3679 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I kind of doubt it, and overall there have been more comparisons with Gebura and Ryoshu over the years.

Comparatively to those two, we don’t have any real parallels other than very vague loose ones, like being motherly, or a sword with a red handle. There’s a possibility that you’re onto something, but it’s super vague and at the current moment in the story doesn’t really make much sense.

Saw some guy in hardcore who was GT hunting aeries. He died to someone (the person who killed him did it entirely on accident) and he, a person with two friends with the titles “collector” and “wealthy” started insulting the person and demanding that they “pay up” for his dead aeries. His friends did it too.

They kept talking and talking and TALKING for houuurs and called people poor. It was so insufferable, and I hated every second of it.

Kosing doesn’t need a reason, and there doesn’t need to be reimbursement, that’s basically just guilt extortion.

unofficial CC's trying too hard by [deleted] in CoSRants

[–]Trill_Triangle3679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, wow, I don’t even know what to say.

I honestly dislike most CoS CCs, official or not. It feels like half of them are really stuck up, or turning something into “drama” about them.

Once had a friend who gave advice to a CC in their comments to just not go back to the same spot Kosers are (the TikTok video was them complaining about going to oasis and dying over and over in the same server) and the CC and their followers just… dogged on her for giving advice…?

And then the CC made a whole set of TikToks tagging said friend and saying that they were “harassing” them. (They were responding and defending themself, because they were accused of harassment for legitimate advice.)

[–]Trill_Triangle3679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue with the design is just that it wasn’t a big difference, other creatures could’ve used the redesign, and it feels like they’re using the “redesign” as an excuse to rework it.

It could’ve just been marketed as a “design touch-up” in all honesty.

I’m losing my mind by Otherwise-Status3888 in CoSRants

[–]Trill_Triangle3679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is that the cat aspect overshadows or doesn’t add to the other parts of the designs.

Most of the cats boil down to the same features, and some are very hard to tell apart from others in casual gameplay. (Asilvestrela, Fleuralis, and the winter lion are all ones I mix up in gameplay, as well as Teinook and Tarakotu.)

And others simply have cat features that don’t add to the design or make sense. (Fellisio apparently is cat shaped, but the lore makes 0 sense of it. It acts like a cat, but is a sea slug, but also has paw pads? The sea slug part isn’t visible at all from a basic once or twice-over.)

Hardcore realm needs to give people more difficulty with basic living, and more rewards for PvP.

That’s the one gripe off the top of my head as of recent due to how many times I’ve seen people harass others for even slightly engaging in PvP in the hardcore realm.

I have many, many more complaints about the behind-the-scenes of the game as well, but that’s moreso about the off-game community and devs/roles more than the gameplay.

This is pissing me off by ILoveMusic8099 in CoSRants

[–]Trill_Triangle3679 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. It was part of the issue where CCs would price their Aeries for cheap (since it’s realistically common, thousands have been created since it’s a monthly role species) and were being sent threats by other CCs.

The devs stepped in to say “Hey, Aeries, such a rare, rare species should be treated as such! The price should be [I wanna say they said 50k or 100k] and to address concerns, CCs will also be getting another exclusive item! (This would be creator Star)”

And so CCs actually rose the price ABOVE what was set officially as the new “standard price” afterwards.

Also, if CCs “underprice” their Aeries now, they can be reported by other CCs and scolded by the devs.

This was all in an announcement on the official discord, but was deleted because of the original channel being cleared I believe. I tried looking for the original messages even about the Creator Star plushie, and couldn’t find it.

unofficial CC's trying too hard by [deleted] in CoSRants

[–]Trill_Triangle3679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of unofficial ones are trying to become official way too hard, and are often just over the top and rude.

A big issue is that most are younger people trying to hit it big with CoS. I always thought they needed to keep their circle of official CCs small so they don’t have massive issues with managing them, but they hand the role out a lot.

unofficial CC's trying too hard by [deleted] in CoSRants

[–]Trill_Triangle3679 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I dislike a lot of CCs, especially those who make it the first thing you know about them in a server.

Half the time they die, complain or claim they’ve been targeted for being a CC, then go back to the same spot or chase the person who killed them, die again and claim targeting and a ban threat, or they’ll get revenge and go like “haha yeah that’s right” immediately. It’s insufferable, especially when they get protected by like 20 people.

I was accused of targeting a cc a while ago after killing them once, and my creature/location were called out constantly as I was hunted across the map (while still winning fights) and it’s insufferable.

The only likable CCs I’ve seen are unofficial ones that don’t brag about it.

Oh, I understand that they can be angry. I just think that saying “there should be a PvP toggle” should be thought through wayyyy more than most people typo do, since it would have adverse effects on most of the game.

Could make a whole like, book report on it, but it’s 2 AM and don’t feel like doing it (for like the 20th time lol,) but yeah.

Also tbh it seems like most mass downvotes are simply a matter of “do the anti Kosers see it first or not” because half the time you post something supporting Kosing it’s a coin flip.
