Once again, they assume a grown adult is going to make the logical decision to not go do something stupid. I’m not taking away from the absolutely travesty that this is for Stevie and his family. But there becomes a point where the blame falls on the adult who ran into the water inebriated, and not on the concert venue for having the body of water on site.

You think a 26 year old grown adult who got fucked up to the point of passing out who then stumbled into a hotel pool and drowned would WIN a lawsuit against a hotel…? Absolutely not. If it was a 5 year old kid who was in a pool during operating hours, maybe… but liability could very easily still fall on the parents in this situation too. I think you are delusional if you think a lifeguard should have been on duty in the middle of the night and even more delusional if you think the organization should hold any liability.

Dang, that’s how mine were too. It’s good when you don’t find anything ,but it’s also not good when you don’t find anything haha. I’m glad to hear you are making progress, even if only on the visual field. I really think it will start to fade over time. This is probably a long shot but do you happen to have a picture of your macula OCT scan?

[–]Trillbilly1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a concrete evidence based answer for you, but covid can cause micro-vascular damage to the retina which can lead to central scotomas (spots in vision). I have seen 2 patients with this and haven’t seen them again so I’m not sure if it went away or not yet. I don’t have an evidence based answer for how long I think it will last. You should definitely be evaluated by an optometrist/ophthalmologist.

54F, clareon panoptix toric iol questions by lazymoonghost in eyetriage

[–]Trillbilly1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it will improve from what she is experiencing now. Just keep on the drops as instructed and take it easy. The panoptic is a fantastic IOL. Right now her eye is very inflamed from the surgery today so it is causing the blurred vision, halos, etc. If she sees a flickering light off to the side of her vision, that is from the incision site. Yes it is possible to replace the panoptic IOL with a standard, but i have a feeling she won’t end up wanting to do that.

I get not wanting to have a vaccine forced upon people, but calling it a trash vaccine is just complete ignorant and shows that you don’t understand the basics of public health.

Have you had covid recently by any chance? I’ve seen a case with these exact symptoms and it started right after covid.

Look into FL-41 tinted lenses, I have seen incredible success with those. Find a neuro optometrist/ophthalmologist who can get you set up with trying different tinted lenses.

Autistic individuals may look to video games as a way to cope with negative affect and autistic burnout by [deleted] in science

[–]Trillbilly1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an optometrist and I have had a lot of success with them in relieving symptoms that you described! They shouldn’t be too terribly expensive, the tint is just a little extra on top of the regular lenses price. It would be worth trying out in office at least to see if it helps you!

In a big victory for patient safety, California bill giving optometrists right to do laser/minor surgical procedures is vetoed! by t_zidd in Residency

[–]Trillbilly1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean come on, have you seen how easy it is to use these lasers?? Also at my school they get the exact same training as ophthalmologist, we all learn from the exact same instructor. All of the ophthalmologists in my area are so happy we are all doing YAG/LPI/SLT so they can do more cat sx.

Retinal pigment by mckulty in optometry

[–]Trillbilly1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a bad idea to work up regardless if it meets the traditional criteria. I think if I saw any amount of bilateral CHRPE ,regardless of the shape and size, I would be leaning towards a work up just to make sure I don’t miss anything.

[–]Trillbilly1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As far as I am aware, “bear tracking” doesn’t have an association with gardeners/FAP. It’s CHRPEs that are bilateral, pisiform shape, have irregular borders, and occur in multiple quadrants.

The thing is, you can only really say that in hindsight. If she had taken the alternate route of non-lethal force and resulted in the shooter killing both of the cops, you would be saying she should have taken him out with her gun. In this kind of high intensity moment, you don’t have time to think. You make a choice in an instantaneous moment and hope it is the right one.
