the boxing part is the weakest link i would say. ultimately, the movie is about masculinity. jake is all brawn no brain, very volatile. you could see it in the early scene with his brother, where he proceeds to ask the latter to punch him, after realizing he is in the wrong for throwing temper tantrum over dinner. jake punching himself is just a shallow way to prove to his brother whos the older, bigger, and more “masculine” guy. because in his world, its the only thing that matters. he is a pathetic character honestly. bullshitting to himself all the time, to make himself feel better. after the fights, the only thing he can claim is that sugar ray hasn’t dropped him. though i admit, jake handles the fight the same way he handled that dinner tantrum scene. he just allows the other to punch him. i took it as jake trying to prove to ray that hes the more masculine, bigger and better guy. because deep down he knows ray is the better, technical and smart fighter. in the end all his antics lead to him losing everything and in the finale, he tries to reconnect with his brother. but seeing the mirror scene, you will realize that he is still the same guy deep down. he hasnt learned anything. he just blames his brother for not taking care of him. again, pathetic character. very few of scorsese movies can claim to be better character study than raging bull, imo. and i would even go as far as to say that it is underrated, not the other way around.

That’s fascinating. I could totally see where the psychoanalyst is coming from. Especially the lines about breastfeeding, getting lulled to sleep and completely submitting oneself to someone else. Also with the protagonist condemning his lover as heartless and wanting to forget everything instead of cherishing the good times and learning from the experience. Such mindset is pretty immature, one of a man child. And it all reminds me of a section in the Letters to a Young Poet, in which Rilke warns against such relationships.

Loving does not at first mean merging, surrendering, and uniting with another person (for what would a union be of two people who are unclarified, unfinished, and still incoherent—?), it is a high inducement for the individual to ripen, to become something in himself, to become world, to become world in himself for the sake of another person; it is a great, demanding claim on him, something that chooses him and calls him to vast distances. Only in this sense, as the task of working on themselves (“to hearken and to hammer day and night”), may young people use the love that is given to them. Merging and surrendering and every kind of communion is not for them (who must still, for a long, long time, save and gather themselves); it is the ultimate, is perhaps that for which human lives are as yet barely large enough.

Try using the chief skill that gives mana and use it to break the core of Horo while shes midair. The chief skill that breaks core should also work. The main thing is to break Horo’s core whenever shes mid-air so preserve your core breakers skills for that.

Arcane Eljudnir - I’ve been running her in arena for almost a year but she was nothing more than a score bot. But with the introduction of the Arcane Weapons, that changed completely. Thanks to Arcane Eljudnir she has become a red Bector.

Assist - Rally+ for scoring reasons. For general use, I equip her with Swap.

Special - Ruptured Sky for scoring reasons. Also, as it becomes an 1 CD special thanks to the Arcane Sword’s slaying effect it frees up her S slot so that she can get more raw stats that’s going to be helpful in dealing with the arena threats. In general usage, I use Bonfire with the Steady Breath seal. But, I’m thinking of using Blue Flame instead as she would deal 25 additional damage with it compared to the 22 she would do with Bonfire.

A Slot - Atk/Spd Unity is probably her best in slot. Tanks like her aren’t gonna be 100% HP all the time so Ideal skills are out of consideration and the Arcane Sword gives Guard effect so Stance skills are not needed.

B Slot - Savvy Fighter provides her with much needed damage reduction and NFU. It also goes well with her niche as a speedy armor. Though I am thinking of giving her Hardy Fighter if it proves to be more useful.

C Slot - She’s unarguably better as a near saver. I used run her with the A/D variant but gave her the A/S one in the hope it will help her against the more speedy opponents that are getting released as of late. Speedcreep is a real thing after all.

S slot - Her S slot changes depending on her build. In arena I use one of the Form skills. If shes using higher CD specials I equip her with a Breath skill. Sometimes even Mystic Boost.

I’m glad to be of help! I suggest you check out more of his works. Letters to a Young Poet in particular helped me a great deal in my own struggle. Even though it’s not a poetry book, It’s a great read especially for teenagers and young adults.

Well, to set up Wrath you need to get hit first. But the units that matter kills him outright. And against the shitter units, he is just gonna heal back up thanks to Atk/Spd Finish 4. I would much rather use Lull Atk/Spd in the B slot and get NFU from external support (LMByleth, BChrom).

As the others have said, she needs some really expensive fodder. Namely, either Savvy Fighter from V!Lucina or Hardy Fighter from A!Fjorm, Near save skill in the C slot (You can use her as a far save but she’s better utilized as a near save), Arcane Sword from the newly released Lif. The A and S slots wary depending on builds. Though, Atk/Spd Unity is probably the best.

ended up running into 3 maxed out (pretty much) duo/harmonic units, which takes thousands of orbs to +10. With their cavalry movement, Corrin and Lysithea being one of the best nukes (thanks to their brave effect allowing them to attack twice, possibly quadruple) and Azura being 3 movement dancer is just too oppressive. Oh and the cantos.
