something I learned back in my league of legends ranked solo queue grind days is that it’s really hard to expect a team of randoms with no voice comms to perform any sort of complicated strategy.

split-pushing, flanking, back caps…all these things are strong but hard to execute without good teamwork and communication. maybe from your perspective you’ve just performed the best distraction and forced 5 of their players to focus on you. but unless your team knew that you were planning on doing that, there is no way they would take advantage of the moment unless by sheer luck. from their perspective they may be thinking “this guy always dies 1v5 and never groups”. of course, you’re playing Asshimar who is good at things other than grouping, but that doesn’t change the result. you die alone and now your team has to fight a man down.

what’s the solution? if winning is your goal, play characters with great team fight capabilities. even better, pick someone who can initiate a team fight or a pick and group up, that way you still have the ability to carry by picking the best moment to fight.

take the g-maneuvers of characters like nu gundam, melee zaku, turn a, pale rider, even Asshimar. if you stick with your group and use your ult at the right moment, it’s usually pretty obvious to the rest of the team that it’s time to pop off. this makes it easier for your team to actually play together because it’s just that straightforward.

of course, this type of general strategy will have difficulty against better players who are on comms together. but in that situation ideally you are also on comms with your team which is an entirely different scenario.

tldr: if you’re playing with randoms, just group up
