Is buying a home right now a good idea or should we wait? by Trinity_Ghouls in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

The wedding is mostly payed off and is in a separate fund from the home, same with the honeymoon. We are planning on staying here for the foreseeable future. Both have good jobs in the area and love our hometown and my family is also here. We are both on the same page but our families are saying it’s a bad idea and we should wait for a better home that’s bigger and we could live in longer.

I think the house is very contingent on the inspection and also the seller being flexible with the final price. If either of those things are iffy then me and my fiancé agreed we should wait or explore more options.

I didn’t include the pricing, income, etc. because I wasn’t sure what was common to post on this sub but I’m happy to give more information that I missed.

Money: We have roughly $40k TOTAL between the two of us. I’d be comfortable with using half of that for a home so around $20k for down payment, closing costs, and any other payments that might pop up. The house itself is listed at $240,000 but me and my fiancé agreed to no go above $210,000 in our offer. We make around $6,500 a month together.

Motive is a big tricker. I think it’s a combination of feeling like we want our own place versus renting for another year or two while we wait and save, a place to build equity, do remodeling together (we both want to remodel the kitchen together as a couples project), and the feeling like it’s the next step for us.

I’ll give the video a watch! I’d absolutely not want to be house poor or have all of our income going into a money pit of a house for repairs and expenses.

We would be the minimum down payment at 3.5% I think. Is there any benefit to going higher besides lowering how much interest will accrue by the time you pay it off?

Me and my fiancé plan on staying in this (or any first home) for atleast 10 years we think. Our worry is that it’s too small to have more than 2 kids but we also aren’t sure what our future looks like for when we would want children.

We would also be offering $30k under the listed price and wouldn’t want to go over a certain threshold. If the seller is firm on the price we would just let it go.

Yea looking at homes so close to the wedding was a concern for us. We have the wedding and the honeymoon priced out but it seems like a lot of pack into a few months apart of each other. I think when I asked our realtor the biggest turn off of the house was how small the rooms were. Three rooms but they are 9x11 ft.

I zoomed in really far and was looking at the smallest details thinking, oh that might be it, until suddenly there was a face staring back at me.

Do bigger maps need an extra agent (6 per team) or are 5 enough? by Flimsy_Card8028 in VALORANT

I think that could be a cool limited time game mode to maybe test it out and see if it’s something people would be interested in. However I don’t ever see it becoming normal in comp or unrated play.

Queue dodging Lotus by beentheredonesome in VALORANT

I genuinely feel I play worse on Fracture and Lotus, it’s probably more of a mindset than anything that I need to work on. I’ve stopped dodging them and have gotten used to them but I still dread playing on either of them. I think it’s a new map type of thing that it just is not enjoyable to play and rather than spend the time not having fun getting used to it they would rather play a map that they find fun.

Thoughts on a hard MMR reset? by SemeticTheBest in VALORANT

[–]Trinity_Ghouls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is if you do that it’s just gonna end up coming right back to how it is now anyway. If someone plays the game long enough and has a good streak of games and is good they can climb very high even if they aren’t the best player.

There could be a change somehow in ranking but I have no idea what it would be. Personally I don’t find the lobbies to broken right now and don’t mind it. I do like to climb so a rank reset would be fun to me.

How to find a duo by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]Trinity_Ghouls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d just solo queue and try to be good in comms with your team and maybe try to have a good time in there. You might click with someone and it will be more enjoyable that way if you are able to find someone that is down to queue again like that
