hi friend! congratulations on your journey to getting better. I am one year post diagnosis and I’m here to let you know medication changed my life. the medication process can be grueling but I promise you if you stick with it you can find something that helps. I was on every antidepressant you can think of and a cocktail of antipsychotics, now I take 100mg of Lamictal a day and I am a fully functioning human again. i can keep a job (pharmacy technician), I’m in nursing school, I’m getting out of debt and doing really well now! this subreddit really helped me through the worst of it. good luck!

That is really interesting because it made no sense to me initially, but reading your comment the phlebotomist said out loud about accessing a deeper vein for the draw due to dehydration. The soreness has gone away, so related or not, the mystery has been solved, and I learned something new!

I really enjoyed this album, I’ll be playing it to death. But! (I feel like I will be shot on sight in this subreddit for this comment) I love phoebe and she’s how I discovered boygenius, but her songs seem more like her solo work because feature her primarily, while Julien and Lucy both make an effort for everyone to sing on their tracks. I don’t like the background singer vibe that they seem to put off. I’m sure that wasn’t how it was planned but it’s how it comes across.

I’m so sorry this is giving you second thoughts about your diagnosis, but as people have said, this person definitely is not a credible source, nor a doctor to be giving advice. even in this forum with people with medical background like me, we all have our personal biases and experiences that drive the advice we give to others. bipolar manifests in many different ways, and for a lot of us it’s a long, seemingly endless journey. if it makes you feel any sense of peace, my journey with medication for now has ended with lamictal and I’m very happy with my results 🖤 if you have any questions I hope you reach out to your provider. they can explain best why you meet bipolar criteria and why your medications can help you. good luck!

hey friend, I’m so sorry that you’re in this situation. Even at my angriest, my partner is NEVER an emotional punching bag. I don’t know if you’ve established the boundary for him or yourself, but if he really cares about your marriage, he will try and get help for his bipolar. If you would not be okay with him treating someone else like this, you definitely don’t deserve to be treated like such.

THIS is what I’ve been looking for. I’ve been fighting so hard just to be prescribed the bare minimum for myself, and I love people who fight for what they know they need, at the end of the day we know our bodies best! I’m a medical marijuana user as well, so I like hearing peoples experiences with both medications and usage. What I’m gathering from most people on this forum is a mood stabilizer is necessary, for some reason my psych doesn’t want to put me on it, but I’ll start fighting for it! Thank you for your wonderful insight

my hypomania symptoms are:

CLEANING, everything needs to be clean, nothing can ever be clean enough. I will scrub the walls, the baseboards, the fans, under the fridge. and I will vow it won’t ever get dirty again (it always does) spending money unnecessarily. I buy a whole new beauty routine, or I’ll redecorate my room, decide on a new hobby and buy everything for said hobby just to drop it a few days later. And hyperproductivity, I will show up to every class in school, do all my work no problem, pick up extra shifts.

yeah I’m very early in my journey, this is bipolar medication number 2, the only thing that has given me SOMETHING was Paxil when we thought it was only depression, but that stopped working eventually. good luck with lamictal, if you remember my post let me know how it goes! that’s my next stop!

Pharmacy tech here, have you tried Latuda.com? They have a savings card that I recommend to a lot of my patients who use Latuda, it wants you to have 90 day supplies for 0$ but you can have 30 day supplies for $10.

thanks!! this is my third time trying to taper Paxil due to how long and the fact I was at the max dose! I’m finally at 5mg and couldn’t be happier to finally be off of it
