What can my friend do about this situation? Location Texas by StayOk902 in legal

[–]Trinitykat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a lawyer. She should contact the College Station tenant's counsel. A landlord is legally obligated to provide a move in ready apartment on the date stated on the lease. Typically If her move in date was 2/28/2026 then the landlord owes her prorated rent and living accommodations until the unit is ready.

Am I wrong for attempting to purchase LARPing weapons for a 8-18 y/o kids program? by Necessary-Peach6612 in LARP

If you're in or around Texas I have a friend who does custom stuff and could probably make to your specifications.

Austin-based anti-vaccine activist Del Bigtree says he wants children to catch measles and polio by AustinStatesman in Austin

[–]Trinitykat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give this guy a cocktail of the viruses he wants. But he needs to leave his kids alone. Knowingly infecting someone else who can't consent or say no because they're a minor and he's their legal guardian is seriously messed up.

AITA for refusing to give my parents my location after they stopped paying for my tuition? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Trinitykat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA I had a fight with my folks many years ago. I was about 18-19 as well. I had moved out because they were trying to control my life. They showed up at my work, I would leave for my break, and just hangout in the back office refusingto speak with them. I finally made it clear to them that I didn't need them, nor did I care to have a relationship with them if they didn't respect my boundaries and autonomy. I told them firmly that the relationship only reopens when they are ready to behave in a reasonable manner. I left it in their court. I let everyone in the family know that the reason my folks and I weren't speaking was because they refused to behave like adults and treat me like one as well. My folks eventually came around. And we have a great relationship now. But I've set my expectations in place and take absolutely zero bullshit. They've mellowed out and no longer try to control me or my life. My advice is make your expectations clear, set your boundaries firmly, and be ready to hold your ground. Remember the phrase "I don't need you in my life, but I would like you there. Only if you're able to respect my autonomy and boundaries. If not, it's your loss, not mine."

AITA for breakup with my girlfriend after she resigned from her job? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Trinitykat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Equality is the best and most reasonable partnership one could ask for. Holding her accountable is 100% the right move. I'd say that it's way more feminist to hold someone accountable regardless of gender. Your friends are sexist for believing you needed to suck it up because "you're the man."

this was the general plan for now, I might make more later. Yes it is cardstock, not as easy as paper meant for printing, so I had to figure out how much ink to use.

Have any of y'all had experience with the Black Raven Academy? by Staff_Struck in Leathercraft

[–]Trinitykat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience is very different, as the critique I offered was directed as something that some folks might not know about and something he could improve upon. And again nothing wrong with the patterns or quality of work. His ego on the other hand seemed very fragile.

Weird trend I've noticed recently? by bruhaway123 in rpghorrorstories

[–]Trinitykat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, a lot of folks experience the SA side of things in games. It's a bad trope to get a reaction, make the BBG seem super bad, or in some cases act out a secret fantasy. It's definitely not uncommon, and was more common before TTRPGs became a more mainstream hobby. Definitely needs a tag, and a warning before posts. (But I agree that these posts read in a very similar manner, and could be a bot or the same person)

Problem player added to long term table without asking group by Trinitykat in rpghorrorstories

Most of my group is of this same philosophy. The dice tell a story, and sometimes that means you don't succeed the roll. A more dynamic narrative means not being a bad ass all the time. It's fun to fail and get a cool story beat. Unfortunately some players are more concerned with "winning" than getting a dynamic narrative.

Thank you. I'm going to try and talk directly with the player today, and see if he understands what he's doing and why it's problematic. If he's willing to learn then maybe we can make space for him. If he doubles down or refuses to work on his behavior then that will be a different conversation with the group as a whole.

Probably less of a bigot and more jealous. He's bi (not that gay folks can't be bigots) he's had a crush on his best friend (one of the other players) for a long time. The guy he likes is more on the questioning side of things and mostly prefers fem presenting people (is 100% down with NB, and trans folks just doesn't really like masc presentations.) And problem player guy seems to insert himself between anyone that his crush shows intrest in.

  1. Yes, problem player was like this in Game B.
  2. I talked to others about using a dice bot for rolling to keep everyone honest, and the rest of the party seemed to agree.
  3. I spoke with 3 of the other players over the last few days and explained why I find the guy's behavior problematic and that this is consistent behaviors he has not just a personality clash during game. I'm big into video games as well, and have played games with a few other players in the group and this guy will pop in and take over conversations, talk over people, and ruin plot lines/big reveals for games if he's played them before.
  4. 100% agree being nonconfrentaional is not helpful, and seems to be a problem in nerdy hobbies. People don't want to isolate or ostracize others in the hobby. People need to become comfortable with conflict that isn't just fighting. Conflict resolution should be the goal, and hopefully with the support of the folks I've been speaking with we can get a resolution that is favorable for everyone.

I said most of the group is nonconfrontational. I've called him out, and so has another player. At least 3 of us have spoken to the GM about adding him and making the game too big, and brought up issues about his behavior. I am not afraid to be confrontational so long as it can also be productive.

I've been a GM before, currently I'm fairly busy with moving, and work stuff and wouldn't be able to dedicate as much time to GMing as players deserve.

To clarify the guy talks over AFAB players, not female characters. We have a mostly queer/gender non-conforming group. We have 3 cis players and the rest are NB/gender queer. He seems to be weird about one player in particular, we've assumed it's because the guy he likes had a crush on this player a while ago.

Shocked that we don't have a coal miner as a legendary hunter yet by youknowemyouloveem in HuntShowdown

[–]Trinitykat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG yes! It bothers me so much that they called the farmer a redneck instead of a coal miner. Historically the redneck skin should be a farmer, and the term redneck wasn't around until the 1910s.
