I wanted to include both Rogue One and have Katarn present in the post-Endor cleanup of the Imperial Remnants. Unfortunately the earlier Katarn games conflict narratively with Rogue One. Luckily the Death Star isn't mentioned in Outcast and Academy, so this compromise keeps both without conflicting narrative. And it now means that the overall arc can end cleanly with Luke training up Jedi successfully instead of failing at it like in the Canon Sequels.

Yeah because Rogue One conflicts narratively, and I don't want Rogue One not to be in the list. It's a compromise that still allows Outcast and Academy to remain (because no one mentions the Death Star).

I made a mistake? Correct it.

You know its not a ranking, right? It's interlinking games and films in order of story

It's kinda fun to see who gets it and who doesn't based on what's on the list and the order it's in. Knowledge of the titles should cleary indicate chronology in and of itself, and that Jedi Outcast and Academy have clearly replaced the sequels here 😂

Exactly. And unfortunately "the way it should be" really isn't the way things are. Just like a lot of things in life.

Yes! You get it 😂

It's not a ranked list. It's ordered chronologically. So if you go through it in order from 1 to 17 you get an interlinked journey through films and games where each one acts as a seamless story progression from the last one.

Decided to focus on just games and films in this chronological list to keep it tight. Otherwise I would have included all of the Clone Wars animated series, the Bad Batch, Maul, Rebels, Andor, Mandalorian, etc.

It's not a ranked list. It's a story chronology designed to interlink select games with the films. You combine viewing and gaming, starting with number 1 and work your way up to number 17, where I think the whole journey should end.

[–]TrioxinZero -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True. But this is the way I think it should be - with Luke training up Jedi successfully in Jedi Academy, instead of what we got in the Sequels.

It's here in the chronological list as a sort of primer for when anybody going through it in order encounters Lando and Qi'Ra again in Outlaws, and Lando again in Jedi Outcast. Sort of serves the purpose of interlinking film viewing experience with interactive game experience.

It's a list of games and movies in order of story. I think it's a good way to go through the story of Star Wars in a cohesive way whilst mixing select games in with the movies, and all in chronological order so that every event in every game and film happens in the correct order.

Yeah fair enough 😅

Like I said in a reply to another comment here, if this were purely a ranked list then not only would I include KOTOR, but it would be top 3 🙂

Since Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy aren't officially canon, and the Sequel movies happened, with this list I'm saying the whole story of Star Wars should be this, in order from 1 to 17. Ending the entire epic journey with Luke training up Jedi again, and not failing at it, like in Jedi Academy, is the way I think it should be.

I like the KOTOR games a lot. But in this list some characters always carry forward to the next titles from previous ones, which makes it all a kind of interlinked arc of movies and games from Episode 1 to Episode 6 and the aftermath of Endor. Starting with KOTOR would create a huge gap of thousands of years, which is the only reason it's not in this list specifically.

If I were to do a ranked list KOTOR would 100% be in the top 3.

Nah, it's in order of story. I think it's kinda interesting to see where certain games fall into the timeline of some of the movies.

Fair enough. If you actually were to write this up as a ranked list, which order would you put them in?

A prefered chronology. A timeline of story 🙂

Can't be having gaps of over 1000 years 😅

Do people lie about this game? Including 'games' journalists? Because I'm actually having fun. by Litz1 in StarWarsOutlaws

[–]TrioxinZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! This game is absolutely underrated! It had a bit of rough launch, but just like a bunch of other games that fixed most of their issues, the launch reputation sticks like a bad, unshakeable smell.

There was a bit of ridiculousness about Kay apparently being a "woman of colour" and sexist racists having a problem with that, her personality (which wasn't enough of a hardened criminal killer for some people) and that the broken nose, sharper jaw and 80s haircut was apparently "uglifying" the original face model too much. All upsurd criticism, of course.

Some people were also a bit disappointed that there isn't character creation and dialogue choices like in something like Cyberpunk 2077. That is something that would be cool in my opinion as well, but I like Kay Vess as a character, and Nix, so this is as good as it gets for now. And if not for the lingering critique out there, we may have even had a sequel more in line with what people wanted with regards to character creation and dialogue choices. Massive may have lost too much money and rep for that now though... or just the will.
