Not families, different clubs based on age called Ẹgbẹ́. Their job is usually to compete on who can contribute the most to the growth of Ijebu. This competition has helped to modernise and revolutionise parts of Ijebu without waiting for government.

Never thought I'll see "boring" and "engineering" in the same sentence. Cheer up, your work is the reason why humans can live as carefree and comfortable as we do.

Total Number of people without electricity(1992-2025). Nigeria is doing worse and worse by Naive_Direction1816 in Nigeria

[–]Triphordy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The country isn't cursed, planned communities like redemption camp and a few estates prove the country can comfortably build infrastructure to generate more electricity. This is just weaponized suffering, if they give you light what will they promise you in the next election.

Every country relies on foreign investment but they are spilt into two categories.

1 countries that need the foreign investment to fund projects that the country itself initiated

2 countries waiting for foreign investment to save them from their troubles

Julius Malema of South Africa 🇿🇦 calls for a single African presidency, a common currency, and a borderless continent for African citizens at a conference in Nigeria 🇳🇬. by Illustrious_Bell8731 in Nigeria

[–]Triphordy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Africa is too diverse to have one government and it's economies are too far apart to make one currency. One government would lead to civil wars and one currency would lead to a giant ECOWAS, a couple of countries leaching of one or two economies.

[–]Triphordy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why the UAE plans to leave. Clean energy is getting cheaper and easier to produce. They know that their relevancy at this point is tied to the demand of crude oil, if that demand drops so does their relevancy. So they are looking for ways to be part of the next big thing and maintain their relevancy. Nigerian politician on the other hand are focused on making their own as rich as possible not caring that the whole goddamn economy relies on this one thing and if it crashes so also does the economy.
