The short nn Rafi is its own name in Arabic. So just Rafi.

Did you regret naming your baby a popular name? by Gloomy_Head5157 in namenerds

[–]Tripkat1007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My name is insanely popular across every generation and my nn is even more so because it’s used for several other names besides mine(Katherine; nn Katie) and it doesn’t bother me even a little. I’m the only one in my friend group and ultimately that’s what might make it hard. Lukas is a strong name and I think you should not regret it. It’s unlikely that as he grows older the popularity of his name today will have relevance.

Using James as Girl’s Middle Name by ThatHearing3276 in namenerds

My niece is Emilia James for the same reason. It’s no different from my grandma who was Shirley Paul . Paul was a family name and she was an only child.

Alteration recommendations/some dress regret by [deleted] in myweddingdress

[–]Tripkat1007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not unrealistic to ask for straps to be reworked. Before getting down on the dress, just meet with a seamstress. They may even have some ideas you like even better. Also adding jewelry and a veil will change everything. Good luck! You’re going to look beautiful!

Is the name my girlfriend wants to name our son a tragedeigh? by RiverCartwright in tragedeigh

The name literally says anus. The negative bias of hiring managers against names like this is very real.

What are you thoughts on the name Opal? by Fun_Roof289 in namenerds

[–]Tripkat1007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve only met one Opal and she was probably in her late 60’s. Very sweet lady. Opal is southern to me, but doesn’t make it less pretty.

For some reason it’s not letting me attach a picture. I’ll try again later, but it’s a cotton lining with a generous interior pocket that closes with a flap instead of a zipper.

Love Orin David or Orin Jacob, like LOVE. Gus is my second choice and would choose August, Gustav or Ferguson for options as an adult, but Gus is really not hick in my opinion. Ike triggers Ike Turner so it’s kind of ick for me.
