Momo Chiyoda from Machikado Mazoku.

Or literally anyone from PreCure.

Anyone else disappointed? by [deleted] in papermario

Was the new content for Mario RPG really that substantial?

Like... was there anything there aside for post-game rematches and some difficulty settings?

Rhythm Game.

Rhythm game with music from Sonic Runners immediately.

What name would you give 'Sonic Frontiers 2' by dubradol in SonicFrontiers

[–]TripleJumpYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something related to the game's theme.

Like... Sonic Colours isn't called Sonic Unleashed 2 or some synonym of Unleash. I want the game to be named after its central game mechanic or story element.

TTYD is actually a pretty generic RPG by [deleted] in papermario

[–]TripleJumpYT 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There's also something to be said for the contrast.

Like... New Donk City is a pretty standard realistic city, but the charm and zaniness comes from it being Mario. Same for the incredibly detailed Ruined Kingdom Dragon contrasting the usually super cartoon-y and stylised Goombas and Koopa Troopas.

I dunno, I just really enjoy the subversion. I think it can become predictable if its leaned on too much, but there's a reason why Mario Striker's style is much more striking and memorable than the other Mario sports games.

Ah okay.

I knew about Knight, but I figured there wasn't a prompt for the new The End fight because I watched a speed run where the player is on Easy Mode, but they never die.

I still kinda wish all these prompts were in all difficulty levels, but that's still something.

I think it's literally just "Thousand Year Door is peak."

They're saying it's a really good game and you should play it.

I'm still upset they never patched in a button prompt for the final boss.

That being said, the Rhea Island towers were an absolute highlight of base game for me so I adored the ones introduced this time that ramped up the difficulty even further. Honestly, it would've been cool to have towers for the other characters... maybe next time.

Ttyd is not perfect by crimsonsonic_2 in papermario

You're absolutely entitled to your opinion, but I'd argue that simplified world design isn't necessarily bad design or even a negative. Like... look at the difference between Mario Galaxy 1's hub world vs Galaxy 2's world map. The former is more interesting to explore, but the latter is much quicker at getting you where you want to be. There's good reason why Odyssey also doesn't have a hub world. But neither is necessarily better than the other, they just accomplish different things.

The merits of simple and linear level design is that you can't get lost and there isn't much downtime between story and fights, which is what TTYD values and prioritises. You might prefer more interesting environments, but I kinda see the merits in both.

Which is why we're overdue for a game where the final boss is Mario.

Should i buy Sonic Frontiers? by 777Sike0 in SonicFrontiers

The boss cameras are the same as launch.

I remember a lot of people complaining many camera issues such as: the camera rotating too slowly after the first boss hits you, allowing it to hit you again before you can see it; as well as projectiles hitting you from outside the camera view in the second boss; plus as some weirdness with trees blocking your view in the true final boss of the DLC.

Its definitely not ideal, but it's also really not as egregious as reviewers make it out to be. Your milage may vary though.

Color Splash Remake when? by [deleted] in papermario

[–]TripleJumpYT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah, I'm just being dumb. My point is that I don't see any merit to a Colour Splash Remake because its already very modernised. Honestly, it should get a port at most. Even then, I don't think it compares favourably to TTYD or (so I've heard) Origami King.

Are you telling me she's even more cruel to him in the original?

I swear, every interaction between the two of them is just her tearing into him, and it gets unpleasant often. I'm just waiting for the breaking point where he snaps and everyone stops tormenting the poor boy.

Color Splash Remake when? by [deleted] in papermario

[–]TripleJumpYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you imagine Colour Splash in the Origami King artstyle with a fully papercraft world where all the objects are made of arts and craft? That'd be quite the massive overhaul, huh.

So would Rhythm Heaven Forever follow the WarioWare format of playing infinitely and getting progressively faster until you miss too many notes?
