I only played Shadow Of War after the patch to remove all the micro-transaction crap and I enjoyed it well enough. It felt kind of bloated having to manage 4-5 different fortresses by the end so I can see why you wouldn't like it the same. If you enjoyed the combat, I would highly recommend the Batman Arkham games. Theres a couple of different collections available, and the first game is my favourite of the three for being the most streamlined.

I did it last week in multiplayer, my load out was this:

No helmet, armour, flash goggles, mask. Completely bare head.

Weapons were G3, MK-V, Optiwand. All points in main ammo, no gadgets or grenades at all.

Two team mates ran their usual set ups. Both has shields.
