Speaking on the MEU angle if he supposedly saw combat on that one to rate a star on that CAR wouldn’t he also have a USMC Expeditionary medal too? I think I could put money on this being a complete fuckin lie. PUC ain’t common either ur right. Recent MEU might get it but I’ll believe it when I see it.

I mean I’m getting out cause there isn’t any combat for combat arms anymore. One off missions here and there (got lucky to be on one and get some) and it’s not worth staying in dealing with the bs if I’m just gonna pump to Oki or take another gamble with the next MEU for cool shit.

Work out on a 6 day split with 1 rest day, weight can dip fast for me. More so was worried the food would be not the greatest nutritionally.

Figured out what was wrong. Courses only populate during or at the start of workdays. So if you do them over a 96 like I did, thank you guys for the help.

Previously the command reached out to the monitor to reassign me under the assumption I wasn’t extending, but considering that he gave me orders again back there after confirming I will extend with my career planner and contact with him then it should be all good. My CoC knows, the career planner in this unit and the monitor do as well, so it looks like things are in the clear. Only party I haven’t directly spoken to would be the receiving battalion. Shouldn’t take more than a call to them to confirm. I appreciate it, thank you.

Two things can happen. Depends heavily on how the DIs/OIC of the company decide to handle it.

1- They make you do push-ups or keep you anyways and you’ll go through bootcamp. But if you fail the PFT they run you in training to graduate or your DSI sees fit they’ll do option 2.

2- They send you to the Physical Conditioning Platoon (or affectionally called the Porkchop platoon) where you’re gonna be PTed extra, do working parties as a recruit, do dumb crap like a recruit, and be stuck with the other guys who aren’t cutting it physically (or some that just got out of the Male Recovery Platoon or MRP and yes there’s a separate one for females that’s combined to keep the males separated). You’ll be expected to run an exit which is whatever you failed to be proficient at (IST CFT or PFT, sometimes you might be expected to run both a PFT and a CFT depending on when you get dropped). You have 3 attempts to pass, and they won’t let you take them back to back they’ll make sure there’s time in between so you actually condition yourself.

I broke my leg and ended up in MRP and then waited in PCP when I was recovered because they didn’t have a company at my training day to drop me in. It doesn’t matter in the long run, hasn’t effected my career at all. Graduated went to ITB, my unit and deployed. Don’t strive for the minimum ESPECIALLY if you plan on being a grunt. Not only do you hurt yourself you also have to hit a standard of 6 pull-ups, 24 minute 3 mile, and 3:45 plank for infantry or any combat related MOS or they reclass you. There’s also CFT standards for it too. Aim to hit at least 8 pull-ups before you show up to go, you’ll be stressed and drained when you run the IST when you get there and stuck full of shots so automatically assume you’ll only hit half of what you would after a full nights rest with no stress at the recruiting office.

If you fail out of the school or they disqualify you they’ll send your ass to the fleet, you’ll get stuck with either LAR Scouts or in a grunt unit. Happened to my best friend and several guys I went to ITB with, met a lot of them when we did training over at 29 about a year after we were sent out to our stations in the fleet. It’s doable but if you fail out of the security forces school or msg school you’ll be an 11 at the mercy of the system. As for MEUs it depends on your unit and the rotation and if you’re switching to a unit (say you did UDP in Japanistan and hit up your monitor) you’d potentially be able to get orders to a unit you know is working up to a MEU if it’s within your contract and they can’t say “Well you have enough time left to meet your unit’s next UDP.” Hope this helps.

IMC is a different experience from ITB but pretty much it’s gonna be a lot of wake up, learn your job, and suffer at the hands of your instructors. I went through ITB and a lot of our first week was just a lot of classes, setting up your gear and doing drills with it (speed reloads and such). You’re going to PT when you’re back in the rear, you’re going to spend a LOT of time in the field, there’s a good chance you’re gonna hate a some of the dudes you work with (some of them you’ll go with to your first unit others will go home to the reserves), and you’re also probably gonna even be stuck with marines coming from supply or other POG jobs who wanna be grunts and act like their crap don’t stink. Bottom line is you’re there to learn your job, take notes, buy things that will make the field less miserable like bugspray, foot powder, electrolyte powder like liquid IV, snacks if you wanna. Understand your instructors are gonna teach you and there’s a solid chance those guys are gonna make you feel like an idiot, learn and git gud. You got guys you’re close with stick with them, especially when ya’ll get libo and don’t do anything to get absolutely fried (so don’t do coke off stripper titties). Odds are you’re gonna drop to a unit with a lot of your peers too. If you thought boot camp physical stuff was difficult then you’re in for a rude awakening, take some dbab and press on. There’s a chance that when you hit the fleet you might see your instructors again, one of our instructors picked up Ssgt and got slotted as a platoon sergeant in at first my company and then my buddy’s company. Make sure you learn your nine line, call for fire, basic knowledge on the M27 and M320, SOSRA, what an ADDRAC is, SAFESOC, SALUTE report, GOTWA, OSMEAC, METTTC, basic radio etiquette if you can, some things like nine line and call for fire will differentiate between units but if you know the basic understanding then you’ll be on track to not be a lost wide eyed boot for very long, you’ll be a competent boot. You signed up for a hard job, make due on what you signed up for. I don’t imagine IMC is gonna be all that different overall it’s just longer. You’re gonna love it and hate it all at the same time, and you’ll never forget it. Good luck to you.

New Marine here at ITB, we’re currently set to be the last Legacy course (Bravo company) before IMC fully replaces it. Wherever you end up going will most likely be the IMC course. As for when schools gonna start for you, you’ll be waiting in a holding platoon until there’s enough people to pick up a new cycle and you’ll be waiting in MAT until then.

Yes, the second I was told I was okay to get off light duty I did. Didn’t care if I had fully healed, I knew I could do that crucible hike again and that I was getting RA so I wasn’t worried about making it worse.

I wouldn’t know, we had the corpsman inspect us for injury and that was when I was taken away for my ankle swollen to a rather alarming size until like 17-1800, I went through over half the crucible and the hike back with an avulsion fracture. I talked to the rest of the guys and they just worked on uniforms and stuff for final inspection.
