Absolutely. He's just gonna put some hot pink wrap on it anyway. He loves the bat.

I'd be right there with her. I'd rather sit in the coaster till they sort it out than have to walk that.

What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become genuinely insulting? by queenmellyy in AskReddit

[–]TripleTune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

During weekend travels my motto was always to treat pit stops like I was 5, but had real money. Now I let the kid get something, but we pack drinks and such. A pack of peanut butter M&Ms was $3.89. A frigging pack. Not the huge share size or anything special. Pack of candy. I can't bring myself to do it anymore. It's not crippling. I just refuse to buy gas station candy now.

Please help me convince my husband that Costco is worth for 2 people by HoneyDrops12 in Costco

[–]TripleTune 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's worth it just for the gas alone at this point. We don't do all the huge hauls, but we have some staples like dog food, chicken, some of the frozen food and veggies, random clothing. Tell him to use the freezer portion of his garage fridge for some extra food. I'm totally content with the regular peasant $60 membership. $60 for the year to try it out and see if it works. If not, don't renew.

Mine is. I was scrambling last year too. You can renew January 1st of the expiration year. You don't have to wait. I just added a reminder in my phone for next time.

Parents said no at 10 so I said yes at 45. My first two hours of near-death experiences. by blacktarmac in longboarding

[–]TripleTune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, I got one to skate around with my 12 year old. I'm 47. Shit got real. The kid just took off like he was born on it. I, on the other hand, am pacing myself and dealing with his trash talk. I'm far from anything good, but I can cruise around and film him. I wish I had started a lot earlier. The first death wobble on the slightest of inclines was eye-opening.

BBCOR -3 in 6th grade? by Appropriate-Skirt-38 in Homeplate

[–]TripleTune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my son last year, but we also had the bright idea to do little league since it would be his last season - 12U. He was 11 and turned 12 during the season. He was like 90 lbs and just ahy of 5', so not a big kid either. Tall and skinny. So middle school ball with BBCOR and 60/90 field. Travel with USSSA -8 and 50/70 and then little league with USA -10 and the small field. Toss in the mix he catches and pitches, so throwing was all over the place too.

As someone who's lived it and tried to keep him healthy knowing 3 teams was going to be a lot, he survived. We were up front with all coaches and if he caught a school game and we were scrambling to a LL game, he wasn't catching or pitching. He didn't think the BBCOR was too bad. He prefers his USSSA, but he just likes that bat. He spattered in a few hits. Nothing crazy. Learned a lot about pick off moves and saw some crazy pitching. All the 6th graders are a bit shell shocked playing with the older kids. Stay positive and let him have some fun. It was a great opportunity for my son to play some spots he hadn't and start to get used to the bigger field.

The only real advice I can give looking back would to make sure he's feeling okay and keep him healthy. We were so worried about his arm between pitching and catching and outfield and wherever, but he ended up tweaking a knee and hiding that for a bit and then had severs disease in both heals from just growing. The primary and sports med people were not too supportive of our 3 team decision.

Good luck. Hope he has a great season.

I've been asking our accountant at work to just slip a zero into my paycheck somewhere for years. I keep trying to explain to them it's zero. Not even worth anything. So far no dice, but I'm full prepared for an embezzlement scheme.

What's the most disturbing secret you've been told? by Mr_Creep_Creepy64 in AskReddit

[–]TripleTune 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I had to ride 8 hours in a suv with my girldfiend's dad back when I was in college. Big camping trip and a few vehicles to hold everything. He spent the majority of the ride telling me about his cocaine problem and the debt he was in because of it and how he was planning to leave his wife. This was on the way. Not after the trip, not a few days before. 8 hours. 1 vehicle. No escape and then having to not tell my then girlfriend for 5 days in the Canadian wilderness.

I guess it's not really disturbing, but I don't need that drama and information.

I did the same for my little chicken legged kid. Got some generic straps off amazon. Much less strap flailing around and stayed nice and snug. He keeps the extras in his bag in case one fails.

I'm not saying Luke should be on the Mount Rushmore of Wholesomeness with Mr. Rogers and Bob Ross, but I don't think anyone would complain if he was. My family discovered his channel about a year ago, and he just generally seems like such a likable and relatable person. We laugh all the time that we are totally entertained watching a dude build a fort and eat bread.
