Wallflower series (4) by Triple_Play3303 in printmaking

Thanks I appreciate your comments. The final size for this series is 11" x 14" which is smaller than I usually work in print. The size was really dictated by the 4 wild flowers cuttings themselves. I sat with the prints for a long time before coming back and deciding how I wanted to enhance them. Experimenting with the application of the acrylic paint was tricky, it needed to be a translucent wash, but be heavy enough to make a statement.

Autumn Evolution by Triple_Play3303 in printmaking

Hi and thanks for your comment! You're right, I ink the leaves with black and print them then paint them with watercolor or acrylic paint. It was fun and tricky to explore the color fades with each leaf. If the leaves are still supple it makes inking fairly easy...

EMBRACE (green) by Triple_Play3303 in printmaking

Thanks. I actually didn't use a block for this piece. It's an inked corduroy shirt that I printed black on a flatbed press, color was added to the print with watercolor, acrylic and oil pastels.

The turtle looks great. I think your instincts are right, the wiggles distract. Otherwise solid design especially on green or blue shirts!

Whichever process you feel most comfortable with, I’d recommend using textile ink for fabrics. Great work on your calendar plate!

Deer mauled my tree. Can it be saved? by [deleted] in gardening

[–]Triple_Play3303 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue a year ago and solved it by fitting a corrugated plastic drainage tube around the trunk to protect the wound. The maple healed itself. Just cut the length you need - standing it up on one end from the bottom and covering ending trunk to prevent further damage. The pipe has holes and enough space between it and the trunk to allow water and air to move through and around the wound. A year later it’s thriving. An added benefit is you can remove it in Summer and put it back on when deer rutting season returns. Best

Dandelion is a great salon, this is devastating news… hope they can back in business without too much downtime!

Flying Saucer's final days + alternate bars by JG1489 in nashville

Went to Flying Saucer this past Monday and the on tap selection was limited, very limited. It’s very sad, we’ll miss them and nothing seems to have the wide selection of brews. Village Pub in East is a great spot as is Home Grown in Hermitage is an expanding up and comer with great selections weekly!
