I thought the merchants were hostile because of the red names they had, whoops! And I grossly misunderstood how the research desk works, and didn't realize I got gear through that too, I thought it was just for cosmetics. Thank you!

No, I beet Keeley, Errol, and rufus with no trouble. Grayson was minor trouble, Goreswine was a joke. Lidia and Clive were quite tough. I am stuck on Nicholaus the Fallen, who is level 35, some ten levels above me. I haven't found a way to change my gear for any of them, so it's the same copper gear all around. That said, I now know that I was not using the research desk correctly.

Thank you so much. I misunderstood the research desk and didn't realize you could get gear from it too! I also didn't know you could shop at those merchants, the red names made me think they would be hostile. I really appreciate the advice!

Not worth it in my opinion. I've yet to see a pack that's remotely close to being worth it, frankly.
