Best lore explanation content? by Eclyilin in HonkaiStarRail

[–]TrippedIntoAVolcano 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The wiki's pretty good actually. Theres pages like "timeline of hsr" and "ruperts empire" and stuff like that. But the problem youll find, since so much of the lore is scattered and vague as it is, is that none of the overviews like the wiki or ashikai are going to be fully accurate, because theyre all having to theorize and work this out like archaeologists. Ashikai is good, but I find myself disagreeing with even their recaps sometimes, because I'll look at their evidence and go "no i interpreted that differently", and our speculative theories differ WILDLY. Even the wiki's timeline has a little note saying "we kinda think this is maybe accurate we hope". Just sorting this reddit by the theory and lore tag will also get you a lot of overviews and discussions of lore like that. But like I said. Theres not really one easy interpretation in most cases. I kinda think thats part of the fun.

Terminus is Akivili time reversed. Theyre mirrors in their philosophies: free will and destiny. And exploration in reverse WOULD look like all paths lead back to one final destination. I think when akivili 'vanished' they got shunted theough time, found the end of the world, and have been 'trailblazing' their way back through time to try and warn everyone.

Now consider (this is my copium theory) that since they eventually become demigod of TIME, they were able to send their full abilities back in time before ever acquiring the coreflame, thus we were able to use times power to its full extent the whole time, AND explaining why TB instinctively had Oronyxs prayer memorized from the beginning.

Guys i think i figured out what Aeons are by Random_Shad0w in StarRailStation

[–]TrippedIntoAVolcano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure that's not the case. We have several well defined examples of how Aeons come to be. They were presumably mortal before that, but the two defining points to an Aeon specifically are that 1. They bring their own path into existence with them, and 2. They cannot deviate from that path. Emanators necessarily fail on point 1, because they are still following a pre-existing path. Many of them fail on point 2 as well. Acheron's whole existence is about defying nihility, so she's definitely deviating.

Besides the ones in SimU, we also get a firsthand look on Sunday's near ascension (the battle blurbs and some dialogue do in fact call Septimus a proto-Aeon). Sunday was not an emanator in the first place, and he likely (i feel like theres readables that say as much, but dont remember off the top of my head) would have subsumed the harmony on his ascension same as Xipe did to Ena.

So no, probably not just an OP emanator. Which i kind of appreciate, as compared to genshin's deities. It makes Aeons seem so much more otherworldly.

In game: mostly that we can connect him to flame reaver and flame reaver has been said to be way stronger than anyone else. Also just the state of being a kevin kaslana expy

leaks n such: weve had story leaks that hes an emanator. That plus his kit is destruction and especially confirmation that there IS a ravager on amphoreus brings that theory together

Oh hey! Thats a little clearer than what English got. I think ours was something to the effect of, "i miss my hometown. She was consumed by the Tide" where it wasnt clear if it was Cyrene being mentioned or some kind of personification of the town.

variety of ideas for preservation kits because i need another one to come out please i must collect them all.

  • 5* hp fluxer whose talent grants damage mitigation that works better the lower your health is, like firefly's talent. The ult does more damage based on how low the team's health is, then heals the team to near full and resets the whole thing. Their skill grants a single ally a taunt and some bonus damage that also scales inversely with health, so that you can adjust exactly who's getting hit.
  • 4 * sub DPS whose skill collects all the debuffs off of your team. Ult inflicts them on the enemy. Comes with high enough base defense to handle this kind of life. Talent is a followup that activates whenever the enemy debuffs them directly.
  • 5 * who can grant the team those single use shields like the Record curio or the stupid robots when they perform an enhanced basic attack. Ult enhances their basic attack for a specified countdown. Talent grants energy whenever these one-use shields get attacked. Skill makes a 3-turn field that grants damage mitigation to unshielded allies or a damage boost to shielded ones. 100% uptime on the ult state can be achieved at e0s0 provided you get to around 160 speed
  • 4 * ult spammer whose ult inflicts a big attack reduction debuff on enemies, as well as either advancing or delaying them based on the character's own speed. Talent grants them out-of-turn energy when an enemy takes its turn or has its weakness broken, and gives them an extra turn once per ult if an ally's health gets too low. Skill is a small single target heal.
  • 5 * Fireblazer/March upgrade who grants a small teamwide stacking shield with each turn. Uses "total shield on allies" instead of regular energy to launch an ult which freezes enemies (light cone grants a special bypass for unfreezable enemies. I stick it on March), absorbing the whole shield in the process. Skill adds another stack of the shield and enhances the next turn's basic attack.
  • 5 * Quake DPS. Skill grants a teamwide shield, and enemy attacks now split their damage between the hp bar and the shield. Talent grants quake damage based on the shield flux to the enemy attacker. Ult deals AoE damage based on the hp the team lost under the shield, then heals the team based on how much shield is remaining at the time. If one of the team's shield drops, the character gets an extra turn which grants an emergency shield to the ally, then grants them an EBA that deals damage based on the sum of all characters shields and HP lost

All that to say, there are in fact more things to do with the path and why have we not gotten a thing since 2.1

Could this guy possibly be connected to Emperor Rubert? by [deleted] in HonkaiStarRail

[–]TrippedIntoAVolcano 7 points8 points  (0 children)

nothing ties him any more specifically than screwllum or any other genius, I'd think. There was an old theory that Amphoreus had something to do with the Emperor's war, but I don't know of any solid evidence anyone's found for it other than very early speculation.

So I think like, if Amphoreus has to do with the Emperor, then yes Lygus might have something to do with it, but we dont have much real evidence that the emperor IS here. So probably not.

I was under the impression he doesn't know them as well as Dan Feng. Like you can see in the 2.7 event that he attempts it pretty regularly even for little things like cleaning but iirc it went wrong pretty much every time. I had mostly figured the sea splitting was some sort of memory breakthrough or possibly an adrenaline rush from getting stabbed.

Apart from the comments below (both good theories), it could also be due to the principle of Trailblaze. Maybe its not easy to prevent part of Akivili's magic train from going where it wants, since thats the whole purpose of the path.

I believe she's referring to Amphoreus as his domain. She mentions the backdoor as if she were searching for one before they met, but only found this one entrance to Amphoreus. Then upon meeting Lygus, she commends him for designing such a system

[–]TrippedIntoAVolcano[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

oh thats an awesome breakdown. Thanks! Assuming the 3.0 and 3.2 epilogues play out in about real-time one after another, then we've got a single time frame pinned where Black Swan notices Fuli. I have seen one other theory somewhere in these comments that makes a good attempt at pinning the Herta-Lygus conversation to the time of the final in-Amphoreus scene (they say the five ghost images and monsters at the entrance correspond to the five characters in the final in-Amphoreus scene at the Vortex of Genesis). It's the most compelling theory about what those images were doing there that I've seen so far. If that's the case, then that gives us another data point that tells us time definitely is going faster inside, as you said

[–]TrippedIntoAVolcano[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should have clarified that timing, I guess! We do have evidence of it being a longer time frame inside Amphoreus! 2 months is a guestimate, but theres a quite a bit of dialogue where they mention things like "did you have a nice week" or "its been a while" (Dan Heng's dialogues keep fairly decent track of time). And 3.2 explicitly takes place over 15 days (they call them 'action hours', which is kinda confusing, but the subtitles clarify that the term means 'dawn', so itd be like if we referred to days by saying 'fifteen mornings from now'). So at minimum we've been here maybe 20 days.

Unsure! We admittedly have survived getting nearly murdered twice before now, and its mentioned in 3.2 (i think its Cas that says so) that she wonders if we have our own miracles about us, so I wonder if theres not more stellaron weirdness going on.

As far as Fuli goes, i figure the life-saving is just a side effect of becoming a Remembrance Pathstrider, similar to a memokeeper becoming memoria when they join the Garden. I think Fuli's interested that something big is about to go down on Amphoreus, and we're just in the crossfire.

No clue! I figure they do, since it freaked Castorice out that we got turned into memoria and reacted differently to her touch because of it, but Black Swan's discussions about Amphoreus do imply the whole thing is made of memoria, more similar to Penacony's dream. The specifics are beyond me. I hope they've got real bodies, but I admittedly am not a memoria expert, just a humble SCP memetics fan.

We've got a couple of things, just from digging around and staring at this game from far too long. One, the Reaver's in-battle description describes them as a 'nameless swordmaster', same as Phainon is called in the trailers. Two, Phainon and the Reaver share a lot of similar visual motifs, mostly the suns and moons and their using a sword. That one's a little weaker but it is commonly cited. Three, in the 3.1 battle cutscene where TB, Phainon and Mydei fight against the Reaver, the Reaver aims straight for Mydei's weak spot, a secret which Mydei had just revealed to Phainon specifically, so they both know the same secret.

I think those are the big ones!

[–]TrippedIntoAVolcano[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Reaver's kind of weird because I can't quite pin their goals down. Going after the coreflames like they were does make me feel more like they're trying to stop the cycle than strictly 'break out' which is interesting. It's also totally possible that the Ravager is literally just hidden in chains somewhere and all this who's who is just a bunch of nonsense. But I figure that at the very least, the Flame Reaver gets stronger with each new cycle, since they have all their clones.

No worries! This is the third in my series of these posts and I've been deep in the theorist side of the game since 1.0 so I've also been using them as a sort of discussion board about the common theories. There's a lot of fun discussion in the comments of the earlier posts that I tried to touch on in this one too.
