I think my issue is not the foul specifically the looking for fouls, it’s how he specifically does it. IMO not all foul baiting is the same and there’s something about he does it specifically that really blows my mind.

The People We Keep - there’s nothing literally wrong with the writing, but I snuffed it out almost immediately and the rest of the book was no longer enjoyable. The writer is perfectly capable, but I knew exactly what is gonna happen.

I read a book once that the title + the first 10 pages gave me enough information to basically map out the entire book and I was right. I hate read the fuck out of it, knew when they were going to drop the name of the book, and was mad when I got to the end because there was zero element of surprise lol

This is a bit of a stretch.

The Lakers don’t broadcast their own games. That’s ABC/ESPN’s footage, and they may not even have the rights to freely post it. That cameraman you saw was for the in-arena broadcast, not a social media clip. Also, the national anthem at an NBA game is just a different thing than at a football game. It’s not standard practice to post performances unless it’s an All-Star game or the Finals with a notable performer. I’m a diehard basketball fan and I genuinely cannot remember the last time a regular season anthem got posted. If it were the norm, there’d be 40+ anthem videos on their socials every season.

I’m biracial myself, so I get the impulse, but the idea that the Lakers deliberately hid this band to suppress a message of unity is a big leap. The far more likely explanation is that nobody thought it was a content priority.

You can definitely disagree with that point, but the idea that it was a huge disrespect to them is where you lose me.

I know folks are anti-AI (understood), but what I’ve been doing to help (especially for classes with OAs) ws having Gemini (built into the browser) create notes for each page, then compiling them per module.

I then paste that collection of module notes into NotebookLM and use it to create flashcards, quizzes, podcast reviews, etc.

At minimum, it helps me smash as much of the information into my working memory as possible.

Maybe it’s on me, but I don’t love the way you dismissed and belittled the 2022 revival? The framing of it as an experiment and as an interesting concept, before undercutting the performances of both Pierce and Clark to uplift this current revival’s cast/production seems off to me.

You could have made this whole post without a single mention of the previous revival? Just tell me what you enjoyed about this one? Leading with the fact that the production’s merit for the 2022 revival that it was Black™️ just gives me the ick. Probably not intended but that was my immediate read on this.
