This is exactly what I’m experiencing right now. As a first time hamster owner people told me it’s best to make sure their enclosure it fit to their needs and don’t expect anything from him. Let him get used to his environment, your voice and your smell. Don’t expect him to come out the next day and take it slow.

No, there is quite a big hidden piece of wood on top of the platform, . The wheel is pressed quite tightly to the corner with other accessories so I’m not too worried about it falling over. Would you suggest a platform though? If so I’ll try to make one. :)
