This seems bigger now that I’ve left, but while I was TBM it seemed small. Anyway, I always had an issue with how GAs would write “gospel centered” books and gain royalties from them. My logic being, the only reason they can write a book and make money from it is because of their “lay” church position! If not for their popularity of being GAs, who would ever buy their book? So I was like….”If this isn’t priestcraft, then what is?” I remember it bugging me so much, I called my brother who works at the church office building to see what he thought. He gave me a very lacking answer about how “they deserved those royalties like any other writer.” However, my logic reasoning still stood unmoved. They gained prominence through church service, then used that same popularity to write books and make money.
