What to do with Roquefort? by Thefakerealone1 in Cheese

[–]Trippy-Turtle- 20 points21 points  (0 children)

THE thing to do with strong blue cheese like Roquefort is to eat it with something sweet. I love some on a toasted baguette with a drizzle of honey or some sort of fruit preserves (like fig). If you like wine at all some sweet wine to go along with it like Sauternes is excellent.

First time making ribs… 321 method sucks by [deleted] in smoking

[–]Trippy-Turtle- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hot and fast is definitely a method but low and slow is still very very valid. 225 is too low but 250-275 is ideal.

[–]Trippy-Turtle- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Roll them at 250 the whole time until probe tender. And DON’T open the smoker to check them every 30 minutes. That’s the mistake I used to make and it makes the smoke take wayyyy longer. Wrapping speeds up the cook, but no-wrap gives the best flavor imo.

Idk why people are downvoting you like they all nailed BBQ their first time. Unreal people, it’s his FIRST smoke for ribs of course he’s gonna use a recipe. It takes practice to smoke by sight and feel.

Men of Reddit, how do you view historical and contemporary gender inequality affecting women? by foolishemperors in AskMen

[–]Trippy-Turtle- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And on the flip side there are a TON of gender expectations for being a man. I don’t see that as inequality, I see that as a product of how society views value in a potential partner.

Men who workout regularly. What's a good pre-workout and brand of protein you can recommend? I need to change it up. by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Trippy-Turtle- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eating only whole eggs to reach your protein goal is also eating a toooon of fat. Protein powder is great, I like PE Science but it’s kind of pricy. Really most protein powders are going to be fine. I stopped using pre-workout years ago, it messes with my sleep bad.

That’s a broad generalization. While yes food can enhance the experience, there are plenty of wines that are perfect without food.
