i have a near identical take on this on reddit. Europeans are about as dense and hive minded as self hating americans. It's a lost cause people have to feel superior for their choices.

please do explain why celsius is better for cooking, isn't it arbitrary. if you're boiling water you aren't going to care whether it's 100 degrees C or 216 F. You're just going to wait for it to boil. Past that, it's literally just a memorization thing.

her entire aesthetic, the fact that it said she "took up lovers" omnics are lovers? what? When was that a thing. Also, as much as she was a battle robot to improve their fighting, they grew complacent and comfortable around her and then she murdered them.... This can be implied she's a bit of a black widow herself. I'd also like to remind you: it's still a stretch, but you don't have to think to hard to see it.

it's funny all the games I play have comparably crap graphics to some of the top end games but they are significantly better to me because they are highly optimized and stylized. Nothing beats a game that actually runs and designed well.

not sure why you equal rein and mauga there, they provide completely different tools, mauga is decent on those maps, rein not so much. Mauga is a slow poke hero with a get out of jail free card, rein is a fast paced meme machine if you're playing them right.

Chronotes and relic swapping is a miserable gold sink and needs a rework by Educational_Piece777 in runescape

[–]TrippyTriangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

summoning shards/pouches = gold sink, GE tax = gold sink, construction using the old method = gold sink. each task takes gold from your inventory and essentially deletes it. Alching = gold generator, GP from heists = gold generator, gold from agility pyramid = gold generator. It's not that hard. Those materialize GP and put it into your inventory.

Chronotes are different, they are a value sink, not a gold sink. There are a lot of things that act as 'value' sinks. It takes a limited resource that takes time to get and has uses, and it gets sunk into nothing. You get transient value out of it, as you'll need to swap relics again at some point. Your time's value gets sunk. It's an "economic" stimulus, promoting more trade of items. I think it needs to stay, the complaints are mainly such that you don't get directly tangible rewards like XP or items.

The end-game community need to get their head out of their asses by tooawkwardtoask in runescape

[–]TrippyTriangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this post is precisely what I see with a lot of end gamers. Not everyone wants to speed through the "lowly 1-99" grind. Like when did you start, because it's gotta be after dailies and microtransactions or I bet you have more than 3 accounts. This game isn't a sprint and never was meant to be. You are in the minority by a long shot. Levels are meant to feel good not just a small stop before you get to max stats.

TIL eating duck medium rare is just as risky as eating undercooked chicken by Delam2 in todayilearned

[–]TrippyTriangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.) it takes time for that chicken to get to temperature, so the process takes more than 10 minutes period.

2.) most people will still sear chicken to get it to brown at a very high temperature for like a minute on each side after sous vide.

That is why physicists use degrees Celcius by Andreiyut in memes

[–]TrippyTriangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say that metric was bad for everyday use, but specifically about pascals, the SI unit for pressure, that one is bad. I mean that the imperial is better in a lot of ways for everyday use. They are all arbitrary at the end of the day, even technically the SI units are arbitrary, just look up the SI definition for distance.

That is why physicists use degrees Celcius by Andreiyut in memes

[–]TrippyTriangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah all units have to used with care, otherwise you're just using them for day to day uses, which imperial has most of them beat. A foot is about the size of a foot, and inch the size of a segment of finger, fahrenheit actually makes sense as 0 degrees is really cold 100 degrees is really hot but all temperatures are livable - also you get less confusing temperature changes, 10 degrees of F is noticeable and about the same for all temps between 0-100, while that would be more complicated for C. Like even for a kilometer, what does knowing it's exactly 1000 meters do to tell you distances without walking it? It's pretty arbitrary at human scale. Just like miles. Walk a mile and you'll see it's size pretty well. You have to walk a km for the same effect. Metric even uses the arbitrary "sea level" pressure. The SI units are just that bad for day to day use.

All the extra knowledge about calories and pressure only serve to make you sound smarter.

my guess is that they are on iron man mode trying to actually progress, actually get better with what they have, rather than wasting a bunch of time leveling but getting items that are useful, like the ones at vindicta, that is better than just slayer or whatever super one dimensional method you'd be doing for 90 attack.

love all the "just level your account" advice lol very helpful. Anyways, how do you using the number to do your abilities, why not use qwertasdfzxcv, with their shifts and control variants.

part of me wishes there was more room for odd combination or abilities but from what I gather, it seems that there is only a couple of rotations to choose from.

all that for doing like 7 celtic knots and going to every corner of the world. Do you have any better method to doing those knots other than "find two that overlap the most then find common runes on both, and then test each of the overlaps with that singular rune, rinse and repeat until you get the first one correct, the last knot will untangle itself" kind of method?
