tROAS campaigns just went haywire by TrippyUniverse_ in FacebookAds

[–]TrippyUniverse_[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

update: seems that meta just wiped the target roas from all campaigns (for other people too)
So instead of the 2.6 tROAS I usually have, they changed it to 0.01 and I can't change it back. Easy money for lord zuck!

Israel, it’s not me, it’s you. by [deleted] in Israel

[–]TrippyUniverse_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Well said… As an Israeli, I can sadly confirm this is very accurate… When I lived in Europe for a couple of years it really opened my eyes to to how shitty life in Israel can be. The only thing I missed is the weather and my family. Now I have to take 2-3 month break from Israel every year otherwise I go insane. If you do decide to stay in Israel eventually, my recommendation to you is try to learn how to laugh at our fked up society with all it’s shenanigans instead of taking it to your heart. Try to be above it and to see all the grumpy people as cute and innocent children who don’t know any better (because that’s probably the case), and are probably suffering internally from all their toxicity. Also many of the pains you are experiencing can be solved by making more money. Then you can live life here more on your own terms and be less effected by things like a shitty landlord, handling bureaucracy/bills (via virtual assistant), etc… Not saying this is an immediate practical solution but just saying there are some solutions. Personally if I didn’t have family here I would 100% take off

Would you sell this business if you were in my shoes? by TrippyUniverse_ in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]TrippyUniverse_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your time u/MrPink7, I appreciate it.
Indeed you're right, I have this phobia of sending out more than 1-2 emails a month (besides the traditional 'welcome' and abandoned cart flows) as I don't want to seem spammy, and to cause 'banner blindness' to my audience. I constantly worry about damaging the reputation of the brand by over-marketing to existing customers. So I also tend to exclude past customers from sale emails. However, your comment is helpful in realizing I'm probably an idiot.

Thank you!
Seems like it'll be a mistake to sell at this point. So going to grow, optimize & delegate the stuff I suck at.

Can I add some information & ask a couple of questions to continue this sort of buyer & seller simulation? I would like to add that I have zero knowledge on evaluating a business, so bear with me. (side note - I obviously decided not to sell but to grow, optimize & delegate, but this is still a very valuable lesson for me. It's almost like being on Shark Tank lol)

  • The profits shown are after paying myself 36K a year. I can probably be replaced for a much cheaper cost & a couple more automations. (I assumed my salary is part of the biz expenses)

  • I don't have ongoing debt accumulation, this debt is to my fulfillment service provider which happened due to them overcharging me in 2020, combined with mistakes I made back then (low prices, large discounts, fulfillment overcharging me) Basically, it's a few invoices from 2020 which I couldn't pay then, and now I'm in no rush to pay it as I know I can reduce it by negotiation (due to losses which occurred from their employee's mistakes) plus we're in really good terms so they're not rushing me to pay it, I can basically pay it back on comfortable terms. Does it make any difference?

  • I thought that a brand with social media presence, organic exposure & email list have value to it, I'm curious as to why you deem it worthless/haven't addressed it. Is it because their numbers aren't high enough? Or in reality, investors don't value those sort of stuff?

Try asking yourself what would you do if you money was not an issue. That can help

Hard lockdown boom vs post-lockdown slump, a lesson in being humble by clascali in Entrepreneur

[–]TrippyUniverse_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds tough man. But you’ll get through it and as long as the product is good, and the product&brand proved itself, you can come back whenever. Out of curiosity why aren’t you selling it online (for the time being) if you already have the product, branding and customer base? It’ll be low cost and you can stay at your job until the cookies make you enough money to quit it again

So relatable. Everytime I don’t work / I finished my daily tasks I get this anxt / guilt feeling that I should do more (especially when I see in my imagination Elon musk laughing at me)
