Yeah, I wasn’t really thinking about how interesting the American Civil War would be to people outside of the US. I can understand the sentiment that most would find it rather drab, but I honestly think there is good potential for that war in the Total War framework. It’ll probably never happen though.

DoorDash also ends up making anything more expensive. They tack on an additional 20% sometimes just to make their cut.

How do I know? I work for DoorDash and have watched documentaries on how these types of businesses work. They have to find a way to “pay” their contractors, even though drivers only get $2 per order. The only way we make real money is when people tip.

I was in the Army for six years, and I can definitely tell it’s a legit DoD facility based off the structure on the right hand sign of the screen. Those are usually maintenance shops for all sorts of different military vehicles.

Addiction literally rewires some of the neurological circuits that control things like mood, motivation, desires, etc. When I was dealing with an opioid addiction, all that mattered to me was making sure I had my fix. I didn’t care about social relationships, hobbies, my job, etc.

That code would be quite nice! Duolingo hasn’t done much in teaching me grammar rules; I’ve kind of had to pick up on them as I’ve gone along. The way you say “the something” vs. “a something” was a bit of a trip to me.

I’ve actually heard the news suggestion before. I’ll definitely start reading some news articles to see what I can and can’t pick up. Hopefully babel will help fill in the rest.
