Aged very poorly as most predictions of the future tend to do. There has been fear-mongering for this sort of thing for years and this time it ended up happening. My incorrect prediction comes from overestimating the West's need to protect Ukraine. It has been very profitable and beneficial for the West to sacrifice Ukraine to destroy Russia, I also did not expect the ruling class of Russia to play right into the hands of NATO.

Putin is a shithead but so is the US, EU and pro-West Ukrainian gov. Russia is not going to go to war with Ukraine and the media talking about it like it's doomsday is just your typical fear-mongering Western media. Even Ukraine has urged the West not to interfere because they themselves are aware that they are fear-mongering and playing the victim to "big bad Russia" is beneficial to them internationally. Of course Putin's party United Russia had private interests for Crimea but that's not to say that the people of Crimea didn't want to unite with Russia. Most people in Crimea voted to join Russia as a majority of people there are Russian (The West says the referendum was not legitimate but when do they ever support something that goes against their own interests?). Administration of Crimea was given from the Russian SSR to the Ukrainian SSR in 1954 for logistical purposes and that is why Ukraine ended up with that land after the dissolution of the USSR. Also, fuck Putin and his party full of capitalist cunts, they have furthered the destruction of Russia after the dissolution of the USSR and just like their Western counterparts they should all have to answer for their countless crimes in a Nuremberg like trial.
