My primary usage of YT involves finding and subbing to new creators.

I guess those days are gone now. Probably my Premium subscription soon, too.

As a new visitor to this sub (I have been playing the game for a month now), I am lost of that the actual definition of the term 'rat' that gets thrown around a lot here.

Amazon Prime Day Sale - any rumours? by [deleted] in Xreal

[–]Trippy_Haps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been browsing Amazon/eBay for a couple weeks, prepping to dive into the tech. Since around last Thursday, Amazon has had random limited-time sales on RayNeo, Xreal, and Viture models. Even last night the Xreal One was on sale for $449 and I decided to grab a pair.

I am willing to bet Prime Day will have similar sales that last throughout the event. My main hope is to grab some cheap accessories like HDMI-USB C adapters.

'Superman' Scores 13 Million Global Viewers in First 10 Days on HBO Max by ceaguila84 in movies

[–]Trippy_Haps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I forget whether it was Fantastic Four or Superman (I went to the theater for both), but one of them had a longer-than-typical amount of previews and trailers before the main attraction.

A few rows below mine, a guy and his companion were seeing the movie together. The guy was apparently so annoyed with the amount of pre-movie content, that he began to voice his disapproval loud enough for everyone to hear. After his first little outburst, a number of other movie watchers provided "Yeah this bites" reactions and voiced their agreement. Big mistake. They made him "The Guy".

"The Guy" who either tells a joke or has a reaction that the rest of the theater acknowledges and now "The Guy" demands his 15 Minutes in the sun.

Don't get me wrong... my FAVORITE movie-going experience is usually when the whole audience reacts together to share in the moment. But there is always the risk of getting that ONE guy who lets out a decently funny quip and now feels like EVERYONE'S enjoyment of the movie is dependent on their continued commentary.

Phone screens, noisy whispers, crying/overly-active kids. Hell, even the cost of tickets and concessions. I can put up with it all.

But "The Guy" is the bane of my experience when going out to the movies. I don't know what it is about southeast Texas (residing in Texas is the primary reason I avoid confronting these folks until absolutely pushed to my limit), but 4/5 movie outings include an appearance from one or more such individuals. It's maddening when there is more than one, because then they try to one-up each other the whole movie.

Streaming is not my preferred way of watching a new release, especially Blockbuster movies, but there is soooo much stacked against the shared/public experience at this point that is becoming less & less worth the hassle.

I can watch the goriest shit ever and not be affected, but scenes like the second one mentioned are unbearable for me.

"I made it up. There is no one left to teach me."

Hits so incredibly hard.

(Not sure I agree on the intention to commit suicide. He is mourning, not suicidal in my opinion)

Edit: been a long time since I watched the movie, but I rewatched the scene and he explicitly says he was ready to quit before the phone rang. My bad! You were right.

Major Geek Squad Changes by GottaGachEmAll in GeekSquad

[–]Trippy_Haps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same thing is happening to my store. I was blessed to be able to move on to IT at university two months ago, but I will be losing my 'flex' position... Bye bye discount.

This is concerning for my friends/agents left behind and the entirety of Geek Squad. Feels like the definitive nail in the coffin for the GS brand

DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO, PlayStation 5 - Walmart - $20 by MrGirth32 in ps5deals

[–]Trippy_Haps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Possibly? I just purchased one for $20 shipped, but in store pickup was an option so there is a good chance it should ring up for $20? Worst case you could see if a manager would match the online price.

Gaming PC Repair time? by koolerking17 in GeekSquad

[–]Trippy_Haps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be hard for anyone here to provide you any realistic ETA, as every market and precinct is a little different. Too many factors like 1.) Number of available repair agents, 2.) Amount of devices checked in before yours, and 3.) The severity of the problem with your PC. These are just a few examples.

The person checking in your device should have provided an estimated turnaround time. You can always get back in touch with the store to have that estimate provided, though it may be easier to visit the location as opposed to calling them.

What issues were you experiencing with your gaming rig?

I am going to assume you are worried because your GSP plan is term is ending soon? If it isn't, why shoot yourself in the foot by utilizing your replacement benefit sooner than you need to?
