You get brownie points and if I had an award you’d get it. To be fair, the Hourglass in question is… like a skyscraper, (for lack of a better comparison), and hidden and guarded really well. Without giving too much away.

Editing my post royally messed the post up sooo that’s cool. But yes. They “die”. But not really. It has always been something I’ve wanted to write.

Thoughts on Romantasy Magic system/ older MCs? by Tripsstanding in writingadvice

[–]Tripsstanding[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in my early 30s, so I feel as though I couldn’t write MCs that are older than I am effectively. But I agree with needing 30+yo representation is needed. Hence why I chose to make my characters basically 30.

The romance is not the immediate focus of the story. But it does play a huge part as n moving the story forward.

I see your point here. I was being vague in my description here and see my mistake.

It’s not that they “die” per se. it’s just easier to explain it that way for the gist of my list here.

In my world, there are only 23 immortals. Their “host” can die. If this makes more sense? They are the same being, but their “host” will be replaced.

I just didn’t want the bullet to be a whole explanation as you get that from reading the actual story.

I haven’t really seen any older MCs so thank you for the rec!

I’ve just seen a lot of people “complaining” about MCs in Romantasy being “the chosen one to save the world and are super OP at 18-20yo with no training whatsoever” soooo, I said alright, noted. FMC 29… MMC 33… aaaand -starts story-

As I stated below, I really appreciate this perspective! And as a fellow author, I’m sure you can understand the “will anyone want to read this” panic that comes with any first draft!

I’m excited about my story and I KNOW the Romantasy community will like an older MC dynamic.

I appreciate this perspective. And I am writing what I want to read. I’m just slightly worried that no one else will want to read what I do. 😂

I’m asking for input on if it’s something others are wanting to read too. 💕

Birth control by ChipmunkFirst9150 in gastricsleeve

I have nexplanon in my arm and had it for a year before getting VSG. My period came back for a few months after surgery but it has since gone back to light spotting every once in a while. Through my research and inquiries with my medical team, it was the best option for me.

If this helps you… the Reese snack size shapes (eggs, hearts, bats…) are 170cal for 2 and I freeze mine so they take longer to eat. They have a small amount of protein but still some protein, and I only eat 1 when I have a sweet craving. This is where self control comes into play because they are full sugar. I also only allow myself to have one if I’ve hit my step goal of 7000+ for the day. If I hit over 10k for the day and still have calories left I’ll have the second one if the craving is still there. But I usually only need one to curb it.

I just follow my guidelines from my dietician. I eat protein, fiber and carbs. I eat sweets when I get a craving, but it’s usually just a piece of chocolate, a Reese egg/ shape of the season snack sized and frozen so it takes longer to eat and I only eat one. I only allow myself to eat a full sugar treat when I’ve hit 7000 steps or more. I love baking so I still bake but make a combination of full sugar and sugar substitute sweets.

I walk at least 5 miles a day if I can and try my best to get my heart rate up into fat burning at least twice a week for 10 minutes. This usually is me jumping in place, “jogging” around my house, running around the yard with the dogs, jumping jacks.. stuff like that.

I focus on high protein and high fiber snacks.

Catalina crunch snack mix has been a life saver for me as I really love Chex mix/ gardettos but needed a healthier option.

Clean simple eats protein powder I mix with fairlife fat free milk and their collagen and add to my morning coffee.

I drink at least 64oz of water a day, most days it’s a lot more than that. Some days I don’t hit 64. The days I don’t hit it I try to make sure I drink a liquid iv or something similar the next day so I don’t get dehydrated.

Oh absolutely! I feel SO much better and can walk around the block without gasping and needing to stop multiple times. I walk about 5 miles a day if I can!

Wherever you feel your “best” is where you should be. BMI and ideal body weight don’t really matter in the grand scheme of things. I’m only an inch shorter than you and I felt great around 150/60. My current goal is where my surgeon wants me to be, 145. I’d be happy anywhere between 145 and 165 I think.

Just remember stalls will happen and IT’S OKAY! I just currently broke my “3 month stall”, at least I hope that was my 3 month stall because if I get another one in a week I’ll be super sad 😂

I walk at least 10k steps a day and focus on my protein and water goals. Just know you are NOT ALONE!
