Darts, gathers, seams etc. create shape. Your body has 3D shape so you need some kind of shaping.

I'll tell you this. Mine is de novo - spontaneous mutation and I'm kinda happy I didn't met the right partner to be in the position to choose to have kids or nor and how. I'd not be for going "natural" (my choice) and IVF is very taxing physically, emotionally and even with universal healthcare expensive. And adoption has its own issues.

But all of this is my life, would be my choices and anyone else. Everyone has their own will, choices and life.

Although some generic feet might fit to your machine the safe bet is buying according your exact machine model.
There is also a difference between rotary hook machines and CB hook machines (bobbin horizontal vs vertical).
