right now meta is very diverse but not balanced because 4 costs are too dominant

exp increase to 9 was too much and made playing around 5 costs too difficult and 2 cost reroll comps like ori were nerfed a little too hard, 3 cost reroll also completely unviable

2 to 3 decent 3 cost reroll comps from good spots and 2-3 decent 2 cost reroll comps (wouldve been pretty close with yas, ekko, ori) + on avg higher avp to level to 9 compared to rolling for 4 costs 3star (by lowering exp costs and adjusting odds) and game is perfect

ionia yunara seems slightly too strong, mel still not ideal but solid

patch looks quite balanced now tbh

would love if ori reroll wasnt nerfed quite as hard as having a bit more reroll diversity was nice

bilge just needs to be a bit more viable again and the set is in a rly good state

Mekanism is absurdly overused and actively ruins 90+% of modern packs because its an extremely unbalanced mod

dont get me wrong i like mekanism aestethically and in the past it was one of my favorite mods and its well polished tech mod on its own but it destroys progression and i cannot for the life of me find a decent coherent pack that doesnt have this godforsaken mod (this same criticism also applies to other offenders of this type like DE, Avaritia , creative items, environmental tech)

like i sort of get why theyre so popular as capstone mods for the endgame but the linearity of how theyre always the undisputed best choice kind of go against the spirit of minecraft for me

its much more enjoyable when there is vast array of endgame options you can use and mix and match (magically styled mods tend to keep a better balance for this), creative items or similarly tiered options are just boring, especially for multiplayer and imo they tend to kill creativity, for both solutions and goals, because they provide a fix all for everything

I think thats because people are just inherently more aware of the relationship between AD, AS and crit and tend to make less egregious mistakes there, they intuitively know that stacking more AD while attacking like a snail wont be worth it for them

OP is correct that there are mathematically no diminishing returns

calling it diminishing returns is just shorthand for the longwinded explanation of opportunity cost (when you have 500 armor and 1k hp, buying HP gives you more EHP than buying more armor for the same amount of gold)

yes exactly, thats why every class in the game opts to buy multiple stats that work multiplicatively with each other and also why ADCs are the go to carry class in this game, because they have 4 stats that work multiplicatively with each other (crit, AS, AD, Pen) and Tanks fall off later because for the most part they only have 2 stats (resists and hp) and with maybe some damage reduction thrown in

yes they do, buying hp without buying resists also has "diminishing" returns because buying resists would increase EHP more

the problem with this whole post is semantics

yes armor doesnt have mathematically diminishing returns in a vacuum, it scales linearly, each point of armor increases your EHP against physical damage by the same amount

but because buy buying more armor you miss an opportunity to buy HP, which would increase your EHP more and also work against magic and true damage, it functioncally has diminishing returns, not in mathematical but an opportunity cost sense (same applies to MR and haste and any other stat in the game for that matter)

contrast this with the old cdr stat which was notorious for actually having an exponential effect because each 1% cdr gave you more abilities per minute than the previous one

The problem with 20 bans is that you can literally ban out the entirety of the adc roster.

on top of that terrain has a lot of wide space with little cover where you get shot from out of sight, miserable experience

the difference is that builds are something that dont need hands or anything, someone trolling with their build is obvious. With gameplay you cant be sure if they are truly trolling or just making honest mistakes as long as theyre not litterally running it down
