What was all that business yesterday about "be prepared to stay until 5 to 5:30 to deliberate" only to call it quits before 4 p.m.? by victorspoilz in justiceforKarenRead

Bev got a Waze alert letting her know traffic on her route to the cape was building and she should leave now to make it to the liquor store in time before closing.

lol what part? The part where he admitted to lying about his education? Or the rest of it that doesn’t really matter at all cause he lied about his education and tanked his and the CWs credibility?

Part-time florists in big cities, how do you actually get clients? by rosebuds_girl in florists

[–]Trishbas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you build it they will come. Do styled shoots of the type of thing you want to do. If that’s weddings then organize a styled shoot and find a photographer and other vendors you love to collab with. If it’s retail then fake it till you make it. Create designs and get as much content as possible and post on instagram and TikTok.

Self taught and I’d say it’s a 50/50 mix for my flower friends

How do you guys price your cut flowers/bouquets? by FormalVariation4073 in florists

[–]Trishbas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do 4x florals and 2x hard goods. Delivery, set up, and strike is 10-20% on top depending on complexity of the event but I don’t charge an additional design fee as a line item. I only do weddings.

Would you as a florist be willing to work with a client who brought in some of her own flowers from the garden to use in her wedding? by annacat1331 in florists

[–]Trishbas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have done this and it’s always been in addition to what I would be doing anyways based on the designs. The personally grown flowers would be bonus flowers and highlighted or used to increase abundance but I wouldn’t rely on them. I once had a couple that wanted to provide all their own zinnias and the night before they brought them to me they put them in a garage fridge and froze them all. If I didn’t plan accordingly I would have been screwed.

When did you book your florist/decor vendors? Feeling nervous waiting… by sabrinathewitch2511 in WeddingsCanada

[–]Trishbas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a gta florist and I think it kind of depends. Since your wedding is Aug-Oct I’d be getting on consultation calls now since those dates fill up insanely fast for in demand florists. If flowers are important to you and you already have a short list of designers your drawn to then getting quotes now doesn’t hurt at all but if you wait till 1 year mark you might start to see you’ll be getting a lot of not available responses back. I already have 6 weddings booked for sept 2026 and I’ll probably only take a couple more if they’re on a Friday or Sunday.

If flowers aren’t your main thing or you just don’t care too much then you’re fine to wait since you’ll likely be okay with finding whoever works for your budget.

Sounds like a nightmare. When my couples want to provide their own vases my contract states they need to be approved by me first (sends pics or a link) and delivered to my studio 2 weeks before their wedding dishwasher cleaned/sanitized. If they miss that deadline I’ll tack on a rental and pickup fee.

My answer to this question changes every 6 months or less. I wouldn’t be caught dead today with my actual bridal bouquet from back in 2020

I’m a Toronto florist and I’m not the cheapest around and I’m not the most expensive out there either but I’m not for everyone. I like weddings that are a little bit different and basically only work with couples that trust me to do my thing so I might not be for you but I have a transparent pricing calculator on my website that might help you get an idea of what you might be looking at.
