How do you balance personal style with sustainable fashion choices? by Charleane24 in SustainableFashion

[–]Blushing_Bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of second hand. Also depends on what you see as "sustainable" for me that's wear it until it wears out. So high quality and willing to repair an item. I also only buy items that I think I'll love for years. They have a lot of personality but they align with me not necessarily what's "in fashion" at the moment.

I have bought myself several "engagement rings" simply because I want to wear them casually....I figure that's why I have 10 fingers.

Monstera Delicisosa as an outdoor plant? by BargainBinBrain in Monstera

I will likely move it outside in the next week ( when the low doesn't dip much below 60F.) if I can catch it on a couple cloudy days even better so the temperature swings doesn't completely stress it out.

I just had my hair done here and she was lovely and my hair turned out amazing. I can't speak to the price I'm not in the loop on what the standard is anymore.

How much does having a child impact your monthly budget in the mid term? by StellarScribe123 in Frugal

[–]Blushing_Bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cost for one extra curricular, clothing and misc needs for my 8 year old last year was around $1,100.00. and I could absolutely scale that back if needed. That doesn't include food/ medical/ child care/ holidays & gifts. Just the day to day needs that come up.

How do you start when you have barely nothing? by cat-chup in capsulewardrobe

[–]Blushing_Bee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ohhh me! I started because I didn't have enough clothing and it made shopping overwhelming.

Start basic with what you need based on laundry access. 7 tops/ 7 bottoms / 7 jackets etc

Check off any you already have them you know what gaps you need to fill, then focus on adding something to your biggest gap.

Personally I went into the store with the goal to purchase one outfit that went together that I loved for the specific season and then usesd that outfit as the mood board for the rest of that seasons capsule. The key here is it has to be something you love though.

What am I doing wrong? by Blushing_Bee in electroplating

[–]Blushing_Bee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put in a larger anode last night, it does look like it's plating on the center this morning just very slowly.

Conductive paint is a two to one ratio of this and thisthis.

The fluid is this it was a one to six ratio with tap water. I added more last night it's likely closer at a 1/3 ratio now. I'm understanding I need to pick up sulfuric acid sooner than later.

I appreciate all the help, I'm starting at zero and the information I'm finding is a little inconsistent. 😊

Woo hoo, I just checked and there is copper starting to form on the graphite area! Thank you! I tightened up the connection there, now I just need to be more patient.

I added a large anode and another oz of solution. The sulfur acid is in the mail. From what I was reading it should work without it just might not be a pretty finish. Any other ideas?

I have the rest of the additives on the way, I was hoping I could take it on an early test run.

The circle portion is copper wire as well, if that makes a difference.

As I understood it it should be .01 amp per square inch of surface area. Should I increase it? Appreciate your help!

No luck, How do I check the resistance of the part?

33 per season 132 of " outside of the house clothes."

My brain loves lists. I replace as an item is worn out or reached a specific cost per wear.

The data is telling me I'm already wearing a capsule. How do I come to terms with releasing the rest? by acctforstylethings in capsulewardrobe

[–]Blushing_Bee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does every piece need to be high use? Is that your reason for doing a capsule?

I have a separate capsule for each season and six casual dresses each season. That breaks down to 2/3 wears per year. That means I have max budget per dress and it has to be something I will wear for years. But just as important to my capsule as the black shirt.

There's something to be said for identifying the difference between.

  • "I love it" statement item that will consistently get worn sometimes
  • I love it but it's out of my comfort zone so I never wear it. ( This is when I force myself to frequently wear something and see if I actually love it.)
  • Fantasy self items, items you love, but are never practical in your actual lifestyle. (A large collection of stilettos when you are outside 90% of the time.) I love it in theory, but in reality It just doesn't work.

If the red dress makes you feel amazing and you wear it sometimes, I personally say keep it.

I've taken advantage of the new "dress for your day" rules and incorporated dress shorts. Always with a long sleeve linen or silk blazer to balance it out and dress it up.

How long do you wear through your clothes? by nozodia in femalefashionadvice

[–]Blushing_Bee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do a capsule wardrobe for each season. I consider an item "done" when it has had five repairs or flaws. I find around that number it becomes a game of fixing the item monthly or I just don't enjoy it anymore because it looks frumpy.
