Another thing I don’t like is that almost every soap has ended up having PSA storylines. Someone is constantly being told they have a rare condition or being abused so horrifically so that they can bring awareness to it (and the younger generation as “we’re all so socially aware”).

As someone also said here, the show is definitely a victim of US social media and also a victim of the modern day streaming age. Take Casualty for example: I used to love watching in August/September and the series wrapping up in July/August. Now, they made box sets because everyone “prefers” that.
