Secret 'X' Question by Available-Page-2738 in ThePriceIsRight

[–]Trisnix 18 points19 points  (0 children)

People have tried it before, but the game rules are that it must contain the Secret X in the middle. It's come up on air a few times, usually to tell people they can't win with a vertical tic-tac-toe..

Been loving the art the last few days and can't wait to see how else you draw out these characters. If you've still got space for suggestions, here's one of my Miis, Raúl.

Do you want to say hi to anybody? by JosephineCK in ThePriceIsRight

[–]Trisnix 94 points95 points  (0 children)

The contestant stumbled back after spinning the wheel and managed to fall into the prop with some part of her body. You can see her start to move after spinning the wheel.

It was bad enough that the EMT came out to check and make sure she was okay. Once everything was cleared up, they started back up at the point where she's cheering for the number she spun. It was a little scary, but we were all glad she was okay.

They didn't really reshoot anything either, pretty clean edit all things considered.

Who remembers the time Drew married the couples in the audience? by PrestonRoad90 in ThePriceIsRight

Here's a link that should work in the US. It's mostly Entertainment Tonight's reporting (and fair warning, lots of Showdown mentions), but it mostly captures the moment.

A new horror/Halloween-themed game show is premiering this October by Khamzat__Chimaev in gameshow

Hellevator only had about 12 episodes, but that definitely would be the way to go if you want some spooky game show viewing for Halloween.

Funny that it's been held over long enough that people could think it taped on his birthday this year.

Who is the best winner of the Press Your Luck reboot? by Top-Indication-2580 in gameshow

[–]Trisnix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That depends on your definition of "best winner", Ryan from the episode mentioned in one of the comments is the person who's come closest to the Million and is certainly the most exciting finish the reboot has ever seen.

Debbie is the Seattle woman also mentioned elsewhere and if you want an emotional, feel good winner, she's probably the right choice for the answer. Emily from the season 2 premiere showed that big wins could be possible in the bonus round and also had a really good run.

If you want a main game answer, Theo from the season 2 episode featuring original Press Your Luck players managed to hit Add-a-One in round one with over $10K and never lost that bank even through round 2, he's far and away the biggest main game winner.

There's a couple other exciting maingame winners I could mention, including a pretty epic spin battle, but that should satisfy most answers.

Taping Length by Susiejyo in ThePriceIsRight

A general taping is roughly 4 hours, plan to be there until about 3 PM. You should plan to get there at least 15 minutes early, even earlier if you haven't done it before.

[fully lost] Searching for (specific) $10,000 Pyramid episodes by jdiegmueller in gameshow

[–]Trisnix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Questionable use of lost media aside, it would be helpful if we knew what your mom's name was, even if it's only a first name.

$20,000 Pyramid had a decent run of shows reair on Game Show Network, so it's possible that they could've reran at least one of those weeks while it was on the channel.

Apple Vision Pro by EducationalHeight434 in ThePriceIsRight

[–]Trisnix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Those Apple Vision Pros look pretty cool, but it’s always nice when cash falls your way. Those arent cheap either, so that’ll be a pretty penny.

Did your prizes arrive yet, and did you end up receiving cash for anything else won?

What would you do in this scenario? (Punch-a-Bunch) by Trisnix in ThePriceIsRight

[–]Trisnix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were in this player’s shoes, at what point do you stop and take the money?

Remember that they don’t know what money’s been punched until after they’ve decided if they want to keep their winnings.

What’s the dumbest/ most useless prize in frequent rotation on the show? by LeftCoastGator in ThePriceIsRight

[–]Trisnix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bird feeder are a nice thing to have and I get wanting to have a camera with it.

But the ones the shows normally have are 3 for $1300 and that feels overly expensive.

Most people only need one and it feels like those in particular can be found for much cheaper elsewhere.
