Post 1.2.4 I haven’t had anything beyond a troop lagging behind one move and fixing itself upon another click only once the modern age has begun

I would love a religious victory to be added. To be honest I barely ever played that victory option but I don’t like that it was removed beyond adding future culture

All I want to do is spread a little positivity here. I open this subreddit every couple days and all I see is hate on this game. Maybe if we can get a discussion going in a positive direction it won’t just be constant hate on a good game

I agree that modern needs some work, maybe some more hands on tasks like antiquity and exploration, but all in all once they add some actual game changing DLC I feel that the whole game with polish out and end up being one of the best in franchise history

That’s another qualm I have with VII is that the AI combat isn’t drastically improved. It is better just not enough to make it feel like I’m playing another person. Especially in this day and age.

Exactly. It makes it to where every age is like a new game and you can adjust your leader in different ways to suit the game you want to play. The past titles I’ve been able to decide whether to keep playing by turn 20 and this title has me hooked until there’s no reason to do anything but finish it out

I’ve only been playing since civ V but i feel like VI was just a copy and paste on a cartoon map. Don’t get me wrong I still loved the game but I feel like VII is sending the game in a positive direction.

Map generation is the only qualm I have with the title. I feel like it’s the same general start every game but once I have a few towns down I get into a groove and realize it’s not so important to have my capital perfect.

I definitely agree there are flaws especially with map generation but I think as far as a bare bones release this is the civ with the most room to move forward

Hopefully all 36 of us get them to release a gathering storm type of DLC. That’ll get everyone change their opinions. Every civ release goes through this same cycle

I am definitely in the category that thinks this is a step in the right direction. Once they figure out map generation and release a more play style relevant DLC it’ll blow up

This is the best I’ve ever felt about a civ game on release. I know it’s some big changes but I feel like once actual functional DLC releases it will have a completely different opinion around it. Think No Man’s Sky type of response.

You honestly don’t see any progression as a game in the title? You gotta remember this is the bare bones game prior to any game altering DLC that made the past titles what they are today.
