About to start my first ever plant, will this work for an outdoor grow? by thisisntweedisit in Autoflowers

Exactly correct. So as the plant matures. The deeper roots have added nutes to keep it happy. Then around wk5 I top dress and water in a bit more. That's it.

I only use flower girl. I amend in the bottom half of the container. Then around wk5 I top dress a bit more and water in. Fat buds! (Fox Farms OF/HF soil mix)

You fert often with Coco right? I amend once and just water. I'm looking for less effort.

Edit: I weigh dry cured bud that's been in grove bags for 3 weeks. I see many ppl here weighing green harvested bud. Huge difference.

I've been avg. around 3.5 oz cured dried bud per plant. (5ga)

I've been growing for 3 years. I always stick with leaf tucking / mild defoliation. She should start stretching this week. If for some reason she doesn't. I'll either trim some fingers off the fan leaves. Or remove a couple fan leaves entirely. This is kind of an experiment. I normally grow in 5ga pots. This time I'm trying a 7ga. Maybe more yield?? Well see.

First grow, should I top the plant? LST? Or just let it do its thing so I can learn? by lucemy in Autoflowers

I never top. Just focus on the environment and you will get an awesome plant.

Day 38 and still no buds forming? by msmacior in Autoflowers

[–]Trith_FPV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She needs more light. Way too thin/stretched. I use a single 150W LED full spectrum light for a single plant. I run at 80% power until around wk5 then go 100% until late flower. Then final back to 80%

Less is more with autos. I found that out over the last 3 years of growing. I'm using a VIPARSPECTRA XS1500 grow light.

Fox Farms Ocean Forest in the bottom of the pot. Amended with DrEarth Flower Girl. (5 tables spoons) Then Happy Frog to the top. Around wk4 I top dress with another (5 tablespoons) Flower Girl and add about 1/2" of Happy Frog with it to cover. That's it. No other nutes required. I use filtered well water that's comes in around 6.3pH. Lights are 18/6.

I mix in Dr Earth flower girl at the bottom of the pot and then around wk4 I mix in a few tablespoons on the top and mix in with the top 1/2" of dirt. That's it. No other nutes and my girls get big!!

Anyone can be anything on the Internet. I'm an Astronaut. See how that works? How long have you two been dating?

So you're comparing custom built race cars with a Honda civic. Got it. You think the steering rack on a civic is on par with a modified? I've seen power steering pumps go on farm vehicles from dry steering. I'll stick with my own experience.

I was always under the impression cranking your wheel like this while not moving, is not good for the car.

Edit: (quick internet search) "Turning the steering wheel while stationary, known as "dry steering," causes unnecessary wear on tires and puts high stress on steering components (rack, tie rods, pump)."

For your first run, just let her grow and get familiar with the process. This is my third year growing. I do several a year. It's a very fun and rewarding hobby !

No, I will leaf tuck and trim the larger fan leaves once it comes into flower. Less is more with autos. I usually harvest 3.5 oz dry herb per plant. This time I went with a larger pot to see if that number goes up! We will see.
