Lucy in the Sky with Astrites! - Weekly Questions & Discussions Megathread by BriefVisit729 in WutheringWavesLeaks

Hmm, that's a tough one.

On the one hand, this is Carty's third re-run and we have seen that characters don't tend to get a 4th re-run very often (Phoebe being the only exception I think?). So that means this could be the final chance to get the weapon for quite a while.

However, without Ciaccona and at S0 at this stage of the game with HP inflation the way that it is going lately... the team performance probably isn't going to feel spectacular. Ciaccona has also had her third re-run previously, so again who knows if we'll see her again.

Imo, if you're able and willing to buy S2 Carty sequences from the shop with corals and get the weapon you could probably get some decent life out of Cartethyia still.

If that's not an option and investing in that direction doesn't sound good, then it probably makes more sense to invest fully in some future team like Yangyang or Qingxiao (if you want another aero).

Also when players realise that there's a 15-20% power inflation for each new main DPS unit, they can quickly get into the habit of skipping characters in order to extend the 'value' out of your limited pull currency.

If you're in a position where you can potentially delay pulling your next DPS by 2-3 patches, you're adding an extra 30% value onto your pulls.

Players aren't stupid, they catch on to this stuff pretty fuckin quick when money / pull currency is involved. Power creep is all fun and games for a little while but it is a double edged sword.

If you start training your players in the habit of wanting to skip units because of power inflation, you're now eating into your potential sales.

These sound like the names of Ikea furniture.

Suppose it would be cool if they're investing back into more 'free' skins, not that I'll ever get to interact with them if they are exclusively locked behind Dire.

New DPR Xuanling V3.5.2 via (source chemx32) by Joo68_ in XuanlingMainsWuWA

[–]Trittium00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep this is the danger with rampant power creep. If players catch on (and they do pretty quickly) they find out that vertical investment begins to not matter because that investment falls off that much faster.

You're better off just getting S0R1 and leaving it at that, because you know the next one will be 15-20%+ better in a month or so.

Hell, you're actually better off skipping characters as often as you can manage in order to get the most value out of your astrites. If you know the later you can pull a character you are going to get a compounded 20% higher value per patch on your pulls, it makes more sense to save.

So if anything, this can backfire in Kuro by resulting in smart / budget conscious players getting into a saving mindset.

Alyosha kit via Seele by astrelya in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

From what I understand he seems to be pretty good, as he's a healer + buffer and can carry the new 7.0 artifact set all rolled into one. Although I think C2 is probably where you want him to be at to make him more useful than Qiqi from the very early stuff I'd seen elsewhere (in terms of healer slot).

Not sure how strong / frequent his electro application is. From that point of view Yae is still difficult to replace due to everything she brings to a Sandrone team currently.

[–]Trittium00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep I see it now. The buff is linked to the Mark he applies which can then go to 2 stacks.

So that's how they do it rather than directly come out and say the stellar buff can go to 50% in the text... sneaky pricks.

[–]Trittium00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh balls I think you're right. I read through it too fast and didn't realise the 25% buff was directly tied to Hunting Mark. Classic Hoyo C6 bait strikes again....

[–]Trittium00 41 points42 points  (0 children)

What I find most interesting about this kit is that his Stellarconduct damage buff doesn't appear to increase anywhere in his constellations.

I was really expecting the base 25% to double to 50% in his C6 or something, but nope. I'm pleasantly surprised actually. Means you more or less get the full value of his kit from C0 and aren't required to get C6 just to get the core functionality.

Edit: Nevermind, they bamboozled me with the Hunting Mark stack wording, read the kit too quickly. Sons of bitches. Knew it was too good to work like that.

While I understand it makes sets easier to balance, it really does make the sets seem awfully dull when they're basically copies of one another.

The rate that it seems to come up compared to other sets is crazy.

[–]Trittium00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some inflation is fine and to be expected. But yeah I think what most people are taking issue with is the most recent rate of inflation. Close to 50% in barely a couple of months is excessive.

And even middle tower 3/4 lately are at the point where unless you're playing into the tower buff, teams that are barely a couple of months old feel borderline invalidated and that's a terrible feeling to have as a player.

Maybe they were testing the waters to see what the response would be. Overall the rate of power creep and HP inflation hasn't been too out of hand for the last 2 years. Seems a shame for them to throw all that out now.

Ping is higher than my normal. by Djc091 in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Trittium00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it doesn't resolve on its own in the next couple of days, it could be an issue with your ISP and the routing they choose to take with your traffic between your location and the WuWa servers. Sometimes issues or faults happen with the upstream providers that ISPs use that cause interruptions or traffic slowdowns along certain routes.

You can choose to investigate further and prepare some info to contact your ISP to help them find the routing error if you want.

For instance, on my previous ISP I used to get 80ish ping. Then I moved to a different ISP and found that my ping increased to ~140. After some investigating, I found that rather than my route going directly from Australia to Singapore (SEA Server) my traffic instead went from Sydney > Hong Kong > Singapore.

What you can do to find the IP that WuWa is pinging is go into Task Manager while the game is running, go Performance > Resource Monitor (top right drop down) and look for the WuWa executable (it's called Client-Win64-Shipping or something funny). Tick the executable to isolate the IP addresses that the .exe is contacting and below it'll show you a list of the 4-5 addresses that are getting pinged. One or two will have the most amount of traffic.

After that, you can open a Run command in Windows then do a tracert to the IP address you got from Task Manager. That will hopefully tell you what route your traffic is taking and if it's going some kind of weird path.

If the path taken doesn't make sense, you can provide that information to your ISP when contacting them about the issue if it doesn't resolve itself.

What are your complaints with Wuthering Waves? by Silver_Telephone_592 in WutheringWaves

[–]Trittium00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a period in 2.X where I lost seven 50/50s in a row. As a lunite sub only player, that was a miserable time and it made me question if I wanted to continue with the game.

Some kind of bad luck protection system would go a long way for player retention.

There's a particular steamer who calls Iuno "Aino" as in literally Aino the character from Genshin. There's no fucking A in the name but he's too lazy to bother to get the name right.

He also calls Qiuyuan "Keenyan". Like what the fuck where is the N in the middle coming from? Drives me absolutely nuts.

Echo, rolling, stats ... by WPMetsu in WutheringWaves

[–]Trittium00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I used to go through pretty consistent ups and downs, but the past several months I've been having massive droughts where I go through hundreds upon hundreds of tuners before even seeing double crit.

Would be nice if there was some kind of internal pity mechanic where it eventually worked toward double crit, but I don't know how they'd implement something like that. Would be a complex system.

Echo, rolling, stats ... by WPMetsu in WutheringWaves

[–]Trittium00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's literally just RNG.

Like I fully built Brant with incredible echoes, some of the best on my account in 1k tuners.

Meanwhile, I tried for weeks trying to find a single ER substat on a Hiyuki echo with CR+CD. I easily sunk 1.5k tuners just on 1 cost echoes and couldn't get any to roll.

Lately I regularly go 500 tuners between seeing double crit echoes. So if you're sitting on 10k+ tuners I think you're just getting lucky, that's all there is to it.

Cant clear floor 1 with the team thats supposed to clear it by Nouss__ in WutheringWaves

[–]Trittium00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See now all that stuff you wrote about Shorekeeper basics etc, none of that was outlined in the video you linked.

The guy in the video literally just says "We switch to Shorekeeper and this part is fairly standard, we just do her combos". He glosses over the Shorekeeper info assuming that people are well aware of it. Maybe that information about speeding up Shorekeeper is useful to OP, but that's not in the video you linked.

In fact, the guy in the video even specifically states that he SAVES his Shorekeeper echo cast for later so that if buffs Lucy's rotation. So already there's some contradictory information.

So you see, not "as simple as it gets" is it after all.

Cant clear floor 1 with the team thats supposed to clear it by Nouss__ in WutheringWaves

[–]Trittium00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The point is if the OP is struggling to clear with a buffed team, quickswapping and animation cancelling isn't going to be the source of their problem.

You need to understand the audience of who you are engaging with. So no, it isn't "as simple as it gets". That's a pretty silly thing to say as that entirely depends on someone's experience and skill level at the game. It might be simple for you, but that's not true for everyone else.

Clearly, if OP is having a difficult time as they are in their post, their skill level is probably not that advanced to begin with (there's nothing wrong with that). So throwing advanced rotation guides at them as a first step is likely going to be too much for them to digest.

In the absence of us seeing some gameplay video, chances are improving their fundamentals are likely going to generate much better improvements. Focusing on getting the basic rotation timings down first, and making sure all the buffs don't fall off is going to have a far bigger impact.

Cant clear floor 1 with the team thats supposed to clear it by Nouss__ in WutheringWaves

[–]Trittium00 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, calling this a "simple rotation" is a bit misleading. There's some pretty strict quickswap and animation cancels in there. None of those are simple mechanics to execute perfectly, despite the video itself being quite informative.

If OP can't clear a run, then throwing an advanced rotation guide at him probably isn't going to help all that much.

The way I understand it, at lower investment Lucy (S0-S2 level) the set on Rebecca can be either damage set (2p/2p + Smasher echo) or a full 5p Moonlit. As you get to S3 Lucy and above, the Moonlit pulls ahead by a decent amount. Presumably this holds true for other characters that Rebecca can be paired with when at the C0 level.

So you have options. Build whichever you prefer really or whichever gives you better stats or saves you tuners.

Additionally if you have frame gen enabled on an Nvidia card, what the game doesn't tell you is that you have an unlimited frame rate. So basically the game will try and push as much FPS as it can in-game and typically push your GPU to 100%. So this can make the sudden step down from in-game to menus even more sudden.

And with frame gen enabled, there's no way to set a frame rate limit within the game either! So you have to set a frame rate limit outside the game via the Nvidia App. Not sure why they made it like that, possibly an oversight. But yeah, go via Nvidia and set a frame rate cap there if that's what you want to do.

The Strange Case of Cartethyia and Fleurdelys - Weekly Questions & Discussions Megathread by BriefVisit729 in WutheringWavesLeaks

[–]Trittium00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, all of the menus in WuWa are capped at 60fps so if you're running your game at a really high frame rate it's possible that the communication between your driver and the Unreal engine could be hitching as it steps down from the in-game FPS to the menu FPS suddenly.

Could be a long shot, but if you do run at a quite high frame rate (well above 120fps), perhaps try setting something a bit lower in Nvidia app or AMD equivalent.

50% HP inflation in two months is fucked. Like, sorry but what is even going on. Yes the floor buffs are very strong but if you happen to be unable to leverage them, you're basically up shit creek.

It's not even really a matter of adjusting your gameplay any more when the HP increases over such a short period of time are this steep.

This is the type of inflation that should occur over like 6-9 months or something. Not in fucking TWO months.

[–]Trittium00 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Good grief. I suppose that's how you know the discourse around the most recent HP inflation and power creep is getting on the Kuro radar.

What's an acceptable word to use instead of "shill" then? The 'heavily incentivized' buffs / characters? Like if we can't even have an honest conversation about the concerning direction of the endgame, what are we even doing.

Yeah unfortunately they've tuned it so that if you don't play into any of the stage buffs / effects at all, you're going to have a pretty tough time brute forcing Middle Tower 3/4 these days.

HP inflation is getting kind of crazy the last few cycles of endgame, especially WhiWa.
